The poolhouse is a oceanside escape for stylish travelers to come unwind and recharge. This unique house is full of charm and not your cookie cutter beach rental. Cherish your time with family and friends here at one of Folly’s most iconic houses. It’s conveniently located just a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Planning a Small Event/Wedding
Permission from the city and property owner required for special events. Special events shall meet the city requirements. May not exceed 48 people. No amplified music. There is a non refundable $1,200 event fee.

Please respect the property and surrounding homes. The City of Folly Beach observes quiet hours from 10 pm. To 8 am.

Hurricane Policy: If mandatory evacuation of the island is ordered by a Governmental Agency, refunds will be prorated based on the nights left of your stay. Wildlife & Pests in Semi-Tropical Habitats: Each year, millions of visitors select Charleston to experience the enchanting wildlife our beautiful coastal area offers. Many do not realize the beaches of Charleston, SC are semi-tropical barrier islands rich in wildlife. In such a habitat, it is common to see other forms of wildlife commonly referred to as “pests.” Some pests which are common to our area are Mosquitoes Culicidae, Ants Formicidae, Sand Gnats “No See Ums” Dipteran, Cockroaches “Palmetto Bugs” Blattaria, Bedbugs Cimicidae, Bees Anthophila, Wasps Hymenoptera, Fruit Flies Drosophila melanogaster, Spiders Araneae, and many others. Over the past few years, some “pests” are receiving heightened attention in the media due to the recent spike in public reports. Hotels, resorts, private residences, vacation rentals, taxis, campsites, and all places where high volumes of people visit are reporting an increase in these less desirable although naturally occurring pests. In the travel industry, no guarantee exists to prevent a traveler from encountering any of these pests. However, steps are taken at The poolhouseto reduce the likelihood of such an experience. Each of our bungalows, have routine pest service and inspections. This not only provides a more comfortable environment, but also allows for a proactive approach to the reduction of naturally occurring pests. Additional to this service, we recommend all renters thoroughly inspect a property immediately upon arrival due to the nature of the travel industry and the rise in reports. By electing to rent a vacation rental property, it is important to recognize no guarantee can be made regarding the encounter of pests. Alternative accommodations, discounts, credits, or refunds are not available due to an encounter with this less desirable aspects of nature and the travel industry.

Construction: Owner cannot predict construction projects in the neighborhood of the home you will be staying in. You may reserve a house at a time when there is no construction in progress nearby, but construction could begin prior to your arrival. We regret any inconvenience that may result, but have no control in these situations and are not able to facilitate relocations or refunds.

Personal Items Left Behind: Owner is not responsible for lost or misplaced items.
However, if notified we will exhaust all avenues to search for the missing items and return them at the guest's expense.

Liability: Guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless property Owner from any and all incidents and/or injuries which may occur while using the premises or surrounding area

WAIVER FOR USE OF POOL: Risks taken are those that naturally result from the activity itself. Injuries caused by negligence are still subject to contributory or comparative negligence rules in the State of South Carolina. My use of the pool located on this property and during my stay involves certain risks, including but not limited to: 1) the risk of injury resulting from possible malfunction of the pool equipment; 2)the risk of injuries resulting from tripping or falling over obstacles in the pool area; 3) the risk of injuries resulting from unsupervised divers and swimmers colliding; and 4) the risk of other injuries resulting from swimming. By renting this property, I recognize and fully understand that the above list is not a complete or exhaustive list of all possible risks; the list only provides examples of types of risks that I am assuming. In exchange for use of the Pool at this Residence, I hereby agree to the conditions below. I fully intend and choose to give up the legal rights, as stated below, and acknowledge that I am responsible for ensuring that all guests, myself included, are subject to this Waiver and the Pool Rules, which are also posted throughout the Residence: 1. TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS that I have or may have in the future against the Owners of this Residence, its Member(s), employees, agents, or representatives (hereinafter referred to as the “Releasees”) relating to my use and my guests use of the Pool located at this Residence; 2. TO RELEASE THE RELEASEES from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury, expense, or other cost that I may suffer or that my next of kin may suffer in connection with swimming in the Pool located at this Residence; 3. TO HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY THE RELEASEES from any and all liability to property, or personal injury to, any third party, resulting from their use of the Pool located at this Residence while I am renting this Residence; 4. That I am over the age of 18 and that I am the party responsible for renting this Residence; 5. That I further agree to abide by the Rules provided by the Owner for use of the Pool at this Residence; 6. That if I violate, or permit a Guest to violate, any of the Pool Rules, that the Owner reserves the exclusive right to terminate the Rental Agreement and retain any or all of the deposit and/or rent as provided in that governing Agreement; 7. That this Waiver, Release, and Agreement is fully effective and shall be effective and binding upon me, and my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, and assigns, or anyone else authorized to act on my behalf or on behalf of my estate. By renting this property, I acknowledge that I have read and understood this disclosure and the POOL RULES that are below. I am aware that by renting this property with this disclosure intact, I am waiving certain legal rights that I may have against the Releasees, and I fully agree to do so. I further agree to follow safety rules while using the pool and engage in ordinary and sensible practices while using the pool and allowing my guests to use this pool. HERE ARE THE BASIC POOL RULES: 1. Pool Hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. daily. 2. The Maximum Occupancy allowed in the pool at any one time is Eight (8) people, including babies and children. 3. Keep the gate to the pool secure and locked at all times, except when entering and exiting the pool area. 4. No lifeguard will be on duty or provided during any stay at this Residence. 5. Children – these are people under the age of 18 - are to be supervised by a sober adult at all times. 6. No glass of any kind is allowed or permitted in or around the pool area, including the deck. 7. No swimming while intoxicated. 8. Report any puddles of water on the deck area adjacent to the pool to the Owner immediately. 9. Do not go to the toilet in the pool. 10. If there is a toileting accident in the pool, this is your only option: a) Exit the pool water immediately; b) Report toileting accident to the Owner immediately; c) Owner will remediate the pool as soon as practically possible; d) Stay out of the pool until the Owner gives permission to re-enter the Pool; e) there may be an additional charge to the reserving guest for remediation. 11. No Diving into the pool. 12. No running around the pool. No boisterous or rough play in the pool or around the pool. 13. No floats or rafts in the pool. 14. No sitting on the ledge of the pool. 15. All noise ordinances for Folly Beach apply and you are responsible for all fines incurred for violating them

Welcome to Folly Beach! I sincerely hope you enjoy your time here on what I consider the quintessential of beach towns. Folly is all about the simple things in life- spending time with family and friends, wearing t-shirts and flip flops, and eating and drinking too much. The way a beach vacation is suppose to be. In 2010 I was practicing architecture struggling with the recession when I was overtaken by my idea that would soon change my life. The idea was The Compound. As life continued forward I found that The Compound helped me navigate through the good times and bad, stay true to my ideals along the way and make the best out of this adventure we call life. The Compound is truly a dream come true. I want this to be a place where you and your family create lasting memories. Whether it was the morning you caught your first wave, or the day you swam with the dolphins. Because everyone can enjoy it differently, I decided to start The Compound family so you too can create memories, in your own way.. Once again, welcome to the family.
