Completely renovated for 2014, this is a bright, chic and well-appointed studio apartment. Designed with attention to all the little details that make for a wonderful place to call home for a weekend, a week or a full season in the mountains.
The space has been designed with incredible attention to detail to be as comfortable as possible for adventurous mountain life while offering a sanctuary of contemporary style - away from the orange wood of old ski apartments!
We spent the entire 2014 season here so the renovation was focused on making a real home that was comfortable for a long time for 2-4 people, with all the luxuries that you crave.
I love to cook so the kitchen is well specced with a great oven, pans, gadgets and utensils, and the 2-ring induction hob is so good it will boil a pan of water in 30 seconds. The large dining table can seat up to 8 people.
The main sleeping area has a large and very comfortable superking bed. The downstairs sofa instantly converts into a very large sofa-bed. The articulated Tolomeo lamp becomes an evening light for the sofa-bed, which doesn't throw light onto the upper sleeping area. The same is true for the reading lamps upstairs so guests can relax in the different spaces without disturbing each other. Full-length electric shutters can be brought down in the evening for privacy and light-proof sleeping.
All the little details have been thought through, so you'll find lots of power sockets wherever you need them - French sockets, but with lots of UK extensions too. There is a fast and reliable wireless broadband connection. I have learned from living in Central London that the key to comfortable living in compact spaces is ample and intelligent storage, which the apartment has lots of - more than we needed for an entire season!
Guests have access to the entire apartment, the balcony, free communal parking and the beautiful Chamonix Valley!
I live in London so we are unlikely to meet in person but I am more than happy to offer advice on Chamonix and will, of course, be available by phone, email or airbnb if you need any help with the apartment.
I respond to enquiries very quickly so feel free to get in touch if you need some flexibility with your stay.
During the winter season preference is given to week-long bookings, especially for peak weeks. Short and weekend bookings can sometimes be accommodated but usually only close to the time. Cleaning fees are separate to nightly rates to reflect the true cost of the service and avoid penalising longer stays.
We hope our guests treat the apartment as if it were their own. In order to be fair to our neighbours we ask that noise be kept to a minimum after 11pm. Smoking isn't allowed inside the apartment but there is a covered smoking area by the building entrance.

I'm a designer by trade and an adventurer at heart, keen to escape to the wilds whenever I can. I adore big mountains, big spaces and epic road trips. I'm a lover of fine food, a passionate cook, petrolhead and ultra-distance cyclist.
Olga and I really enjoy travelling. We split our time between London and Chamonix and, as often as we can, other exotic and wild locations around the world.
Airbnb suggest sharing a life motto. I've always lived on the basis that we're here for a good time, not a long time.
