A typical vacation will have you arriving at the St Thomas airport.
I’ll pick you up and then shop for your lunch and dinners, or I can shop for you before hand. On to Compass Point Marina where we will transfer your provisions to Sea Level. AirBnB requires this statement: the boat will be semi-permanently attached to a set location during the reservation. For more information about your adventure, please read my reviews and contact your host, Capt. Richard
Experience living on a comfortable ocean sailing yacht, designed and equipped for sailing around the world.
My usual guest are a couple and they have the aft stateroom that has full bath with walk in shower. I usually sleep on the other end of the boat in the V-birth, with a half bath. If the booking guest want to bring one or two additional guest, they will sleep in my V-birth and I will sleep in one of the sofa/single births. If we have a total of 5 then one guest will sleep in the salons other sofa/single birth.
Make yourself at home. Enjoy the whole boat. There's plenty of snorkel equipment exploring nearby reefs. At most snorkel locations I will lead you on a tour of the reef pointing out fish and critters of interest. I use a GoPro to video the tours that will be transferred to a 16gb thumb drive for you to take home.
On your honeymoon? I can disappear.
Want to tie the knot? I can arrange weddings.
Or you want to chat? As an airline pilot that retired at 52 and sailed from Baltimore to Thailand, I have a few tales to tell. I am sure you have had a few adventures to share as well.
Be sure to message me through the AirB&B website. If you use reply from your own email provider, I will not get the message, Thanks!.
My boat is listed as a B&B.
I will cook and clean for all your meals.
Food cost for lunch and dinner varies depending on your taste.
Usually $60 / day will cover the cost for two. You decide when I take you shopping if you want a steak or hamburger menu.
Pack light! I will supply beach towels, snorkel equipment, and even tooth brushes if you forget yours. It is best to pack your clothing in soft duffel bags.
Whoever books the trip needs to explain these house rules to the other person.
I have fresh water to rinse off your feet after going ashore.
Kick off your shoes and relax! - Please No Shoes on Board.
No spray suntan lotion ( the acetone chemical melts plastic)
This is a nonsmoking boat, bring your E-cigarette
The Coast Guard still operates a "0 tolerance " drug program. You can still have fun ashore, please leave it ashore.
I hold a USCG 100 ton Master license with all endorsements. I was working as a Captain on a 60 ft. catamaran for 74 passengers, and a 42 ft. SCUBA dive boat for 17 divers. I have left that job to do AirBnB full time.
My area of operation is the US and British Virgin Islands.
In my previous life I started out as a cook and a baker in the US Navy, which led me to complete a 2 year degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Managing. Then it was back to college to study aviation for my 4 year BS degree. I started as a flight instructor and worked my way up the ladder to fly for a major airline, USAirways. After 29 years as a pilot, I retired in 2000 as a Boeing 737 Captain.
After retiring, I fulfilled my life long dream by sailing my boat from Baltimore to Thailand through the South Pacific. My favorite island to visit was New Zealand.
Returning to the States in 2006 I found my current boat "Sea Level" in the British Virgin Islands. I enjoyed sailing and living in the Virgin Islands so much I decide to stay and make it my home.
Being in the tourist industry, I get to meet many interesting people from all walks of life. So many have come as guests and leave as friends.
