Fabulous panoramic views of the Dartmoor National Park, newly decorated rooms with larger than average en-suites.
Home cooked breakfast using local produce, a great place to stay for walkers, cyclist and sightseeing.
Wow! What a stunning property and what a stunning location! If you want to experience the quintessential Dartmoor in all its glory then you have to come and stay with Jenny at Holwell Bungalow. There are 360 degree views out over the moors, Widecombe-in-the-Moor is a short drive down the road with great options for a drink and hearty meal to help you forget about weary legs and the breakfast, produced with all home reared produce, was tantalisingly good! Jenny's communication was great and our welcome very warm. We would absolutely return without question!
If you're looking for a beautiful home in Dartmoor National Park, this is THE place for you! We stayed 1 night while touring southern England; Jenny is a wonderful host Our bedroom for 2 was spacious; the bathroom was stylish. We were spoiled with home cooked omelettes, yogurt, granola, juice and coffee at breakfast. We will definitely stay here again!
We had a dreamy Easter weekend at Jenny & Mick's B&B, where we stayed in the East Room. Mick was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived. He explained the best walks for an afternoon and what to look out for. He also booked us tables for dinner in the pubs for both nights. The room has lovely views over the moor, we kept looking across all 3 windows from the bed and couldn't decide which view we preferred. The sunrise over the moor was the best wake up call, but then again, leaving the super comfortable bed with crisp and luxurious linen was impossible. Bathroom is clean and warm, it has a large shower and an extra long bath! We loved using the pure water from the boorhole, it makes your hair look amazing. Breakfast couldn't be faulted, again overlooking the garden and the delicious fresh eggs from the farm are a highlight. The B&B is in a secluded location where you can easily access the footpaths, straight out of the door basically. You do need a car to get into Widecombe In The Moor. This seems to be a local food hotspot, with 2 pubs and 2 cafes. Highly recommended!
It would have got 5 stars if the room had been warmer. The thermostat seemed fixed. I didn't ask for more heat due to you generating your own electricity which I admired. Hot bath helped but probably used more fuel!
