Little Yard is an intimate home with five guest rooms decorated with natural materials, and a western bathroom inside each room. Standard room contains a good quality king-sized mattress, with the mountain view through the window.
Little Yard is a quaint B&B renovated from a traditional Chinese "siheyuan" (courtyard) in rural Beijing. It has 5 guest rooms, each with a private western-style bathroom and simple, rustic decor that resembles the surrounding nature. The shared yard and dining area offer plenty of space and sunshine to read your book over a cup of tea, and in the right seasons, you can pick and enjoy the fruit from our date trees or other vegetables that grow in our yard.
Little Yard is also the home to our staff who lead lives that honor the environment. With the Chinese concepts of "harmony" and "deep thought" as our foundation, Little Yard is our home, and is your home away from home.
Guests have free access to:
- filtered drinking water
The yard, dining area and kitchen are shared spaces. The space is large enough to relax undisturbed, yet small enough to feel at home and share a conversation with us and other guests. We hope you feel as if you're in your own home, but we ask that you respect the privacy of our staff and other guests.
Sometimes our dogs, Yuanyuan and Little River hang out at the yard, and some of our staff live here as well. Therefore someone is always around, and the village is very safe! Feel free to ask us for travel tips!
If you would like to have dinner at Little Yard, please reserve in advance as we prepare everything fresh, using mostly local and organic produce and meat. If you're lucky, you might just catch us serving something from our own garden! Dinner is 69 rmb per person, or 109 rmb on BBQ Saturdays.
We organize guided tours and assist in other travel arrangements. We also offer cooking classes, tai chi classes, tea-tasting, and various other events and workshops.
Every Sunday we organize community service activities such as our English-for-Fun workshop for the village children or our open baking workshop for the Beijing community. We welcome you to join us!
Please keep the main door closed at all times; we have sociable dogs!
Quiet hours: 10 p.m. - 8 am.
Main doors locked between 10:30 pm - 7:30 am.
