Little Yard is an intimate home with five guest rooms decorated with natural materials, and a western bathroom inside each room. Standard room contains a good quality king-sized mattress, with the mountain view through the window.

Little Yard is a quaint B&B renovated from a traditional Chinese "siheyuan" (courtyard) in rural Beijing. It has 5 guest rooms, each with a private western-style bathroom and simple, rustic decor that resembles the surrounding nature. The shared yard and dining area offer plenty of space and sunshine to read your book over a cup of tea, and in the right seasons, you can pick and enjoy the fruit from our date trees or other vegetables that grow in our yard.

Little Yard is also the home to our staff who lead lives that honor the environment. With the Chinese concepts of "harmony" and "deep thought" as our foundation, Little Yard is our home, and is your home away from home.

Guests have free access to:
- filtered drinking water
- wifi
- parking

The yard, dining area and kitchen are shared spaces. The space is large enough to relax undisturbed, yet small enough to feel at home and share a conversation with us and other guests. We hope you feel as if you're in your own home, but we ask that you respect the privacy of our staff and other guests.

Sometimes our dogs, Yuanyuan and Little River hang out at the yard, and some of our staff live here as well. Therefore someone is always around, and the village is very safe! Feel free to ask us for travel tips!

If you would like to have dinner at Little Yard, please reserve in advance as we prepare everything fresh, using mostly local and organic produce and meat. If you're lucky, you might just catch us serving something from our own garden! Dinner is 69 rmb per person, or 109 rmb on BBQ Saturdays.

We organize guided tours and assist in other travel arrangements. We also offer cooking classes, tai chi classes, tea-tasting, and various other events and workshops.

Every Sunday we organize community service activities such as our English-for-Fun workshop for the village children or our open baking workshop for the Beijing community. We welcome you to join us!

We LOVED staying at the Little Yard last week! It was such a nice little retreat from the city. The rooms are rustic and the yard is so cute. We spent as much time as we could on the sunny roof deck drinking tea from the in-house tea bar. Emily was incredibly helpful prior to booking, before our stay, and during our stay. She arranged our transportation from Beijing and also our pick-up and droff-off rides to hike the Great Wall. She knows the area well and is happy to share her knowledge, which we appreciated. Also, don't pass up the family style, home cooked dinner that is offered - it's delicious! The breakfast that was provided to all the guests was great too! I recommend the Little Yard to anyone who is in the area!

入住当天办理checkin的时候,看到厨房在做饭,就顺口问了Sharry(airbnb上显示的房东,接下来故事的主角)晚餐都有什么。 Very Unpleasant Experience About Room and Living Environment 1. No air-conditioner and TV set. Even it’s early June, it is hot to sleep without air conditioner. 2. Water pressure is low in the Family Room. 3. Handbell to wake you up at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Do not recommend to person who likes to sleep in. 4. Curtain is not dark enough to prevent the sunlight while the sun rises at 4 to 5 a.m. Do not recommend to person who is very sensitive to light when sleep. 5. Many mosquitos indoor, same reason because of not having air conditioner. 6. No glass for tooth-brushing. 7. No padlock for your private room. And the main door is locked from outside from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. which means you are restricted during this time. About Landlord 1. Arrogant attitude. Several days before living in Little Yard, their employee called me to ask whether I will have dinner in Little Yard. I refused politely because we have planned dinner in other restaurant around. When checking in, I asked Sharry what they offer for dinner because I am curious by seeing their cook cooking, she replied me “I think Olivia has already introduced our dinner selection to you in the call” without looking at me and with an arrogant attitude. It makes me not feel comfortable and welcome. 2. Poor hospitality We have two friends who joined us late in the evening. And we did not know the main door is locked without being able to enter from outside after 10:30 p.m. Not only didn’t Sharry request their staff to assist, but also require us, as customer, to learn how to lock the door from inside, as well as get up 7:00 a.m. to open the door to allow her cook to prepare for breakfast. Once my friend got up at 7:00 a.m. to open the door, her cook is already around. We felt being teased. 3. Poor communication skills. In the second evening, we came across very beautify starry sky on the way driving back to Little Yard. Therefore, we spent some time to enjoy the beautiful view. Sharry called me at 22:06 and opened the conversation by saying “You should know why I call you”without asking reason. Then, she continued to say “I have told you that we locked the door at 22:30. I take your behavior as you will not live in Little Yard tonigt. Then, I will lock the main door, etc.”My friend and I feel very offensive even if we are not running late yet. After checking the map, we found we were only 6 kilometers away from Little Yard. And we were able to be there on time without her disturbing and offensive call. I strongly doubt the legality of their behavior to lock the main door from outside.
