Montanita is a surfer town with a relaxed vibe. Many tourists come here every year to enjoy the beach, try surfing, for the well-known party scene and in total for a nice vacation.
There are many western- style restaurants as well as local restaurants with typical south-american food.
Beach bars that sell cocktails and fruit juices all day long, small boutiques, street art, travel agencies to book trips to surrounding towns and places like "Isla de la plata" also known as "galapagos for the poor", the beach "los Frailes", the little fisher towns Olon, Ayampe and Puerto Lopez, whale watching, diving, horse back riding, bike rentals... for all types and ages there is something to do here.
