Please note that check-in is between 10:30am and 10pm unless by prior
arrangement. Please inquire first by sending me a message using the Contact the Host button at the bottom of the page, or right underneath this section.
Please message me before making a reservation so we can discuss your stay. This is a really attractive small house in a friendly and "villagey" area. The bedroom has a very comfortable small double bed but it is a 4 footer and not for those who are used to very big doubles.
There is good transport, five minutes from Wandsworth Town station with great connections to both the West End and the City, plus lots of buses. It is also ten minutes from the river bus where you can go both up and down the river, by far the best and most picturesque way to travel in London. There is free parking between 4.30 pm and 9.30 am after that it is only £7.00 for the whole day. If you are interested in staying here.
There is also a smaller bedroom than the room advertised (smaller price!) but still with plenty of room, which is very pretty and quiet. Formerly an office it is being re-born as a bedroom again! It is great to stay for the weekend or longer, so do get in touch if that suits you. It also has a useful small desk if you should need it for work.
There are lots of great restaurants and bars very close by, from traditional British fish and chips to Indian, Morrocan and Thai, plus two well known pubs, one right on the river. Two good supermarkets, plus a gym to work it off if you feel the need There is a peaceful walk along the river via Battersea Park to Chelsea and Knightsbridge.
If you are feeling brave this is a good time to hire a car and go and look at our countryside, there are fewer people than in the summer, and you could perhaps visit Highclere where they film Downton Abbey!
There are also new exhibitions all over London including the Victoria and Albert Museum and Kensington Palace, which has now re-opened, (although the appartment where William and Kate have moved into is not on display!), It is also where Princess Diana, Princess Margaret and many others lived which has a display of some of the Queen's and many other dresses. Plus a great historical interactive display. All the places like Hampton Court are open with very interesting displays and wonderful gardens. Plus do not forget the retail therapy in the different areas from Mayfair to Petticoat Lane Market.
In the summer (or even the spring) you are very welcome to sit in the garden and have a cup of tea or a drink and recover from the whirl of sightseeing and shopping!
I am in the house most of the time as I work from home and am very happy to help at any time with suggestions (and cups of tea!) when required.
Smoking is permitted but only in the garden. This is my home and not a hotel, so please treat it with the care and consideration you would your own. You are very welcome to use the wifi, etc but this is not for office use 24/7. Please be considerate in your use of the bathroom, very lengthy showers mean no hot water for the next person! Some use of the
kitchen is allowed but not massive amounts of cooking. You are welcome to sit and have a drink in the garden, English weather permitting! Please be aware that this is a small house without lots of storage space for very large suitcases and boxes.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.

This is a really fantastic year to visit Britain. After a wonderful summer we are now having an Indian autumn with glorious sunshine, well part of the time! It is also sixty years since the Queen's Coronation and there are wonderful exhibitions connected with this. Also a new exhibition just opening at Kensington Palace, which is still lived in by the Royal family - in fact William and Kate and George have movedinto one part with Harry in one of the cottages. It was also the home of Princess Diana. I worked for many years as a blue badge Tourist Guide and my main interests are history and houses, so I would love to help you if you are visiting Britain and need some ideas. This is a wonderful country and if you are brave enough to hire a car (!) you can drive through the small vilages, stay at lovely old pubs and really get to know us.
I used to be fluent in French and Spanish: as with all languages they can go without practise, but I can still remember more than enough to welcome any French and Spanish speakers and help them with their visits here.
Finally I love this country, know it well, and look forward to meeting you and making your time here a really enjoyable experience
