Fantastic 1 bedroom apartment on a quiet street in Kew. This is a Victorian one bedroom property in central Kew Gardens completely modernised in 2013 to the highest standard.

It is full of original features with antique marble fireplaces in both the sitting room and the bedroom. The modern kitchen/breakfast room has granite work surfaces and french doors opening onto a small private outdoor area. The walk-in wet room is tiled in Italian stone and has underfloor heating.

Kew is in West London and is regarded as one of most beautiful, genteel, and safest places in the capital.

The nearest shops and restaurants are a two minute walk away in Kew Parade, which is a very cute, old fashioned shopping parade, containing over 30 shops, cafes and restaurants, is a five minute walk away.

The property is a five minute walk from Kew Gardens tube station and Kew Gardens British Rail overland train station. Immediately outside the property is a bus stop which will take you to Richmond in 5 minutes, Chiswick in 10 minutes or Hammersmith in 20 minutes.

Within a 5 minute walk is the Victoria Gate entrance to Kew Botanical Gardens, UNESCO world heritage site.
Kew Gardens Village is also a five minute walk where you will find a StarBucks, The Glass House (a Michelin starred restaurant), and a Tesco supermarket, and various smaller cafes, tea shops, restaurants and gift shops.

Kew Gardens tube station and Overground station is a five minute walk which will you with Central London in 25 minutes or Covent Garden in 35 minutes.

There are plenty of tourist attractions nearby including: Kew Botanical Gardens, The National Archieves, Syon Park, Chiswick House and Park, The River Thames (you can walk along the tow path or take a boat ride along the river), Hampton Court Palace, Ham House (view the house or watch the Polo matches there in the summer) and Richmond Park the largest park in any European capital city.

The apartment is on the ground floor (described as the '1st floor' in the USA). We (the owners Chris and Ailsa and our dog Lucy) live on the two floors above. There is a shared entrance hallway. Our guests have complete and total privacy throughout the whole of their downstairs apartment - as if they owned it. We might bump into each other in the hallway, but that is the most interaction that would occur unless you required help with something. Once you close the apartment door, you are in your own kingdom.

Yes, we will be present unless we are on holiday. We are both out at work during the day. Interaction is purely at the behest and choice of the guest. Mostly we say 'hello' if we perchance meet in the entrance hallway, but otherwise we respect our guest's privacy.

We LOVE: The peacefulness of Kew, the village-like atmosphere (it is even called 'Kew Village' by the locals).

Chris was a wonderful host and this rental is in a marvelous location. The apartment is very close to the darling town of Kew with its lively pubs and restaurants and Richmond is a one stop ride on the tube or a 25 minute walk. The gorgeous Kew Gardens is a two block walk as is the Thames River walk. The apartment is very comfortable and cozy. I noticed when booking that a previous reviewer complained about road noise from the street however we did not find this to be an issue. We had a delightful stay and would definitely return when we visit the UK again.

Mycket nöjd med vistelsen i London, vi var 4 personer som stannade 5 nätter. Lägenheten var mycket ren och fräsch, köket välutrustat. Läget toppen med närhet till det mesta inte minst grönområden och allmänna kommunikationer. Kommer gärna tillbaka.

The flat really is as good if not better than the pics. Beautiful, warm, clean and comfortable. But what made it so much better was Christopher's really personal touches. We stayed over Christmas and he'd set up a real tree with lights and decorations just for us. Amazing! It's more than we'd have had at home. The compendium of tips is great. The washer and Smart TV all make place feel truly a home from home. The next time I come to visit family in the area I'll definitely be back.

Christopher made us feel very welcome - we shared a love of Kew and writing. There are some fantastic books to read whilst staying there, which my husband and I enjoyed over breakfast. The flat was as clean as our own home, which is extremely rare. We have very high standards, so it was a really nice surprise to have such a clean, comfortable flat to stay in for five days. Highly recommended!

We had a very good time. Very kind welcome from Chris. Clear explanations, wonderful flat with everything you need. Lovely area, flat only a few minutes away from the station. Our children loved it. Flat exactly as on the pictures. First experience with airbnb, a very good one. Nice touches like the A to Z book prepared with all the useful information you need to know about the area and London tourist information. Everything has conveniently been thought through.

Chris war ein perfekter Gastgeber, er hat die emails schnelle beantwortet, das Apartment ist sehr schön und liegt in einer sehr schönen Gegend. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder dorthin zurückkommen
