The room has very comfortable Cal-king bedroom set. It also has a desk for your laptop, large windows for lots of light, patio sliding door, separate deck for your morning coffee, in room wet-bar and private full bathroom. We are in a quiet cul-de-sac - close to fast food, good restaurants, and easy freeway access.
We have a beautiful "green" home that is open, peaceful, and welcoming. The guest master suite is 250 sq. feet with its own sliding glass door AND dog-door onto a separate deck. It comfortably sleeps two adults, and we can rearrange a few things for parents traveling with small children. We use only biodegradable and non-toxic cleaners and house has solar panels for electric and hot water. We have planted mostly local plants which attract hummingbirds, owls, and dragonflies. We have a 1/2 acre lot with fresh herbs, veggies, and many fruit trees including fig, lemon, orange, blood orange, pomegranate, apple, plum, apricot, and grapefruit.
The back yard is open to guests and is large with BBQ, hammock, and games like lawn bowling, badminton and croquet and a creek and is fully fenced for dogs. In the house, guests can access living room, dining room and gourmet kitchen.
We love people and will interact as much or as little as they like.
Completely rebuilt in 2000 home in quiet 1960's neighborhood with mature trees and each house is unique with fairly large lots. Safe area to run and take long walks. Just 3 miles from the American River Parkway where 26 miles of trails along the wild and scenic American River for hiking, biking, or sitting and enjoying the wildlife.
Bus line is 1/4 mile away on Marconi Avenue and will take you straight to the light rail station and downtown in 30 minutes without a car.
You can come and go from the frontdoor (easiest) or thru the side gate (harder) straight onto your own deck and room without going through the front door. Please use the privacy curtain next to your bathroom to "close-off" your part of the home. Guests with motorcycles can safely park them in the garage or behind the locked gate on the RV pad.
We are very friendly and like people but understand others need for privacy and space so we leave it up to the guests how much interaction they would like. We are happy to share the kitchen for meals if desired. We are also walking close to McDonald's, Carl's Jr., KFC, Panda Express, Taco Bell, and other sit-down restaurants. Our bedroom is at the other end of the house so we would interact in the kitchen and living area but have separate space too. If you leave your door open, our little dogs might want to say good morning...
Exterior web-cams on sight for security and safety. We are close enough to downtown Sacramento to be there in 15 minutes but far enough to have occasional turkeys and deer in our yard. We are just 3 miles from some amazing parks along the American River Parkway. We have bikes to borrow too if you feel like a ride.
No loud noise or smoking anywhere please. We need to see pictures of the pets and all pets must be licensed, updated shots, collars and tags on arrival and remain on leash anywhere out front of the house. They cannot be loose in the backyard until we are sure all dogs get along.
Brad and I have been married 22 years and have no children. We love dogs and provide foster care for the Sacramento City Animal Shelter. Brad is in real estate and I run a non-profit promoting recycling and waste reduction. We love to travel and love people so this seemed like a match for us to host travelers with or without dogs. We know how hard it is to find a great place to stay with your dog! We live and let live, are easy going, fun loving people who love natures and want to share the amazing Lake Tahoe with others as well as a little of the 1970's when we grew up and have fond memories of that decade!
