We are proud to have maintained SUPERHOST status for the sixth consecutive quarter since beginning to host in May 2016.
Located in Castleknock, just 8 kilometres (5 miles) west of the city, on a leafy, quiet street, our detached home is friendly, modern, warm and comfortable. The bedrooms are neat, clean and bright with central heating, fitted wardrobes and free WiFi access.
We are empty-nesters, (i.e. our children have left home) so we have two spare bedrooms available through AirBnB. This is our home and we will welcome you sincerely and wholeheartedly. We really hope you enjoy your stay with us. We expect you to respect where we live and leave us with pleasant memories of your time here.
We rent out this double bedroom and one twin bedroom. While neither room is ensuite, each room has its own assigned private bathroom. The fully-tiled bathroom for this double bedroom is located across the hall and has a bath, an over-bath Grohe power shower (with plenty of hot water), toilet and hand wash basin. Towels and bath products are provided.
As well as having exclusive private use of your bedroom and bathroom, you will have access to the sitting room, kitchen and garden too. Our sitting room is a cosy place to relax and unwind in the evenings after a busy day. In the cooler months, we always have a fire lighting in there. We have Netflix and hundreds of cable TV channels including SKY Sports. Our spacious kitchen is the heart of our home. You are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare meals or to eat food you bring along. Feel free to make a cup of tea or have a coffee whenever you wish.
The garden is a great space with a bench in a sun trap to catch any morning sunshine. There is a gas barbecue available for your use and our granite table and chairs make outdoor dining a real treat!
James and I are self-employed so we are constantly in and out of the house or in our home office. But we will be available if you need us or just feel like a chat!
Both Evelyn and James enjoy meeting people but very much respect their guests' privacy. Evelyn, a Dubliner herself, is available to give advice on the best places to go and to see in the city. You choose the level of interaction that works for you. The house is large enough for everyone to find a spot to relax in peace.
We offer you a welcome drink and snack on arrival.
A complimentary buffet breakfast is available in the kitchen from 7.30am to 10am. We offer fruit juices, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, toast, traditional Irish brown bread and marmalade and homemade jams.
If the sun shines, we can provide you with a picnic hamper and rug. We even have beach towels to spare! Just ask....
Check in time is from 4pm. A mutually suitable time needs to be agreed in advance.
Check out time is up to 10am, at the latest.
The house is non-smoking but you are welcome to smoke in the garden.
We do not offer facilities for washing clothing at our home. There is a launderette in Castleknock Village which turns around service washes within 24 hours.
As other people in the house (and our neighbours) will be sleeping, we like noise kept to a minimum after midnight.
We prefer you to eat any meals or food in the kitchen, not in the bedroom.

We are Evelyn and James, a (young-at-heart) mature, married, self-employed couple from Ireland. We have three grown up children who have now left home.
We love travelling, always have and always will. We would rather have experiences more than possessions. Over the past 20 years we have been to lots of exciting places - from Bali and Borneo to Belize. We visited many states in North America, various countries in Central and South America, as well as travelling regularly to Europe. Our favourite countries include Greece (Paxos), Spain and France. When we travel we enjoy accommodation that is clean, well- appointed and maintained and hosts who are helpful, friendly and interesting.
We love the concept of AirBnB. Who knows a city better than the people who live there? What we have enjoyed about our own experiences as AirBnB guests is the 'insider' knowledge on what it really feels like to call that particular place home.
We would be delighted to share our little slice of Dublin with you!
