We spent two lovely, relaxing weeks in Angela's apartment in Ariany. We were met by Angela's son William, who gave us a hearty welcome and showed us the apartment and told us about the neighborhood. It was a real treat to be shown a fridge stocked with fruits and cold beverages after such a hot day! The apartment was large, newly renovated and stylish. Three large bedrooms with silent and effficient air conditioning, fast wifi, satellite TV, a well equipped kitchen and two dining areas as well as a table on the terrace. The pool area was very private and secluded, and although the pool was not large (about 10 by 10 ft. and about 4 ft. deep in the deep end), it was absolutely lovely for cooling down in the heat and playing.
Ariany is a very quiet and sleepy town where nothing much happens, but it is only approximately 20 minutes by car to Can Picafort and the beaches and stores. Ariany is simply perfect for families wanting a quiet vacation away from mass tourism!
We had several meals at the restaurant Ses Torres, down by the main road, and enjoyed the local Spanish culture at their buffet lunch. Money well spent, reasonably priced and all you can eat of wonderful food with beer and wine included!
We were also lucky enough to catch the Fira Nocturna, a grand festival in the streets of Ariany. People everywhere, mostly locals, and only a few discreet tourists like us, and we were honored to witness such vitality. They served homecooked traditional food from stands, played music and danced Mallorcan folk dance. It was great!
We met Angela briefly, but for the most part William and his father took care of us. They came by twice to water plants and clean the pool, so it was always very fresh and nice.
We would very much recommend Ariany to others, and particularly Angela's apartment!
