This huge restored and ecclectically furnished old colonial has all the charm of an antique with all the conveniences of modern life. A fully equipped large modern kitchen. The living room has a working fireplace. The dining room has seating for 10. The 3 bathrooms are freshly remodeled. There are 7 bedrooms. 2 bedrooms are on the ground floor sharing a bathroom. One king bed and one queen bed. Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms. 2 with Queen beds and 3 with double beds.
This home is on the Old Kings Highway list of Historic homes, located one mile from Barnstable village with magnificent views of a pond and the great salt marshes. A short walk on a lovely country lane leads to the beach and pristine Barnstable harbor. There is a charming attic playroom with ping pong table, games, costume trunk, and extra beds for those rainy days. The expansive yard has a brick patio, an 8 ft picnic table , grills (gas and charcoal), fire pit, a big lawn for games, and plenty of outdoor seating. A path through a field with ancient stone walls leads to a pond with a dock, rowboat, and canoe for your use. There is also a small sandy beach for fresh water dipping.This is a BIG house perfect for reunions where everyone can spread out. The sunsets at this property are absolutely spectacular. We have many board games, lots of books, boogey boards, beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, volleyball, croquet and every type of ball game you can imagine. This home is completely set up for summer enjoyment. Also included is a beach pass which allows parking at any of the 14 beaches in the Town of Barnstable. There is one pass for one car. Parking for 5 cars.
You have access to our private dock on the pond and a row boat and a canoe.
There are two bikes on the property for your use.
Also use of all the sport balls we have. Some tennis rackets,baseballs,bats, basketballs, etc.

The beauty of Barnstable village is that the North side of the Cape is considered the quiet side and it is quaint and quiet, yet 4 miles away is all the summer activity you could ask for.
A car is necessary. Though walking and biking to the town center is just a mile away. Our harbor is easy walking or biking 1/4 mile away.
We are offering a minimum of 3 day stays for the long holiday weekends of Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, and Memorial Day weekend.
The pier on the pond. Access to a canoe and a row boat. Also all kinds of sporting equipment and balls of every sort. Croquet, baseball, etc.
Beach chairs, umbrellas.
If we are here at the time we are available for any and all needs, 24/7. If we are away, we will always be available by phone.
The Bedroom layout.
First floor: 2 Bedrooms with shared full bathroom with tub/ shower. One King bed & One Queen bed.
Second Floor: 5 Bedrooms with 2 shared full bathrooms with shower stalls.
2 Queen beds & 3 Double beds. 2 of the bedrooms are pass thru rooms.
Attic: 3 single beds.
No smoking in the house. Outside is OK. No pets allowed,but exceptions are made with discussion prior to arrival. Parking is limited to no more than 5 cars. We regret to say that we cannot allow weddings, no matter what the size.

I'm an artist and my husband John is a builder. We enjoy restoring special old properties in need of repair. It's a deep and involved way to travel. We'd rather tour the hardware stores of the world rather than the cathedrals.
