Roger is Cornish born and has spent a lifetime in the region, when not travelling overseas. His background as an early champion surfer, his work in various parts of Cornwall, for which he has a passion, enable him to share his local knowledge on culture, activities, ocean sports and regional history if it is of interest to guests. He has written a book The Surfing Tribe about the surf history of the UK and can still give a personal surf lesson to visitors upon request.
Hilde is a tour guide for German-speaking tourists visiting the nearby historic house, Prideaux Place, a popular location for the Rosamunde Pilcher films.

I met my wife, Hilde, when she came for a surf lesson to my surfing school which I operated in the early 90s. Since then, through our beach lifestyle, we have raised our son to become a successful competitive surfer and lifeguard.
We all feel blessed to live on an amazing coastline which we make the most of through all the elemental seasons of the year. Our working lives are involved in education and tourism which enable us to maintain our uniquely Cornish way of life.
We are happy to welcome travelling visitors, from all parts of the world, to our door and show them some genuine hospitality from Cornwall!
