The Modern Living Spaces homes of B-Bar-H Ranch were offered in 5 striking models. Our home is the "Brandy Alexander" and is one of the more popular models. It offers a spacious living room and kitchen area which is open to the front entrance. Both sides of the living area have sliding glass doors to private and serene settings. To the west, one sees San Jacinto and San Gorgonio out of the courtyard, while to the east one sees the open ranges of the Little Bernardino Mountains. This setting will compel you to meditate, create or just leave it all behind and relax.

We love the history of B-Bar-H Ranch, formerly a Hollywood get-away. We believe in the darkness at night so that we can see the stars (and sometimes even satellites!). We love the ranch-like setting, with no security gates and a feeling of openness. Our neighborhood is an open place where friends and loved ones join in the evenings for short walks.
The Sunline #14 is available from Palm Springs and runs three times per hour along Palm Drive and Gene Autry.

The short walks with neighbors really makes the place special. We enjoy meaningful relationships with our friends in the neighborhood, yet we respect each others' need for privacy and retreat.
All amenities, including laundry, pool (unheated), jacuzzi (fees apply), garage. Please do not use tools in garage or china in buffet. Property is not child-proofed.
We interact with our guests only as often as we believe they prefer. Don't be surprised by fresh cut flowers when you arrive every time you stay with us!
At La Luz we encourage our guests to use our amenities in a responsible way and keeping in mind energy conservation.
Jacuzzi (100 degrees) extra charge applies depending on usage. Inquire about pool heating.
Umbrellas by pool are for your enjoyment. Put down right after use as winds are common and they can get damaged.
Keep AC at 76 degrees for energy efficiency. Maintain doors and windows closed if AC is on. Turn off AC if you will be out of the house for a few hours.
Please use kitchen china only. Do not use the china in the living room buffet.
Do not use waste disposal in kitchen sink as it entails a call to the plumber. Everything goes in either trash or recycling under counter next to stove range. Likewise, only toilet paper goes in toilets. Do not flush anything else as we are on septic.
House and property is not child-proofed as follows:
> No child-proofing locks on utility cabinets or doors
> No fencing or obstacale which would prevent a child from going to or into the swimming pool or jacuzzi area from the main structure.
> Electrical outlets are not child-proofed.
> Rattlesnakes, scorpions and other desert wildlife can pose a risk to both adults and children.
The desert is a hostile climate generally and can pose risk to life for both adults and children.
Please note that Riverside County requires payment of a 10% tax be paid on all bookings. Upon confirmation, we will assess a 10% resolution to guests to pay the Transit Occupancy Tax (Riv.Ord. 495.7)

Jacuzzi / Pool - please note that Jacuzzi price is $30/night in addition to the cost of accommodation. Guests indicate at reservation time if they wish to have Jacuzzi, and the $30/night additional fee is changed in the reservation. Pool may be heated at guest request for a fee for the stay. Please inquire with host.
LIABILITY: I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to renters and/or their occupants or guests which may occur on the premises of the rented property (hereafter known as “La Luz”), including but not limited to injuries associated with use of the swimming pool. In consideration for the rental of La Luz to me, I accept and agree to assume the full risk of any such injuries, damage or loss, regardless of severity, which I and/or my occupants or guests may sustain as a result of participating in any activities connected or associated with any such use of the amenities at La Luz. I waive and relinquish all claims I and/or my occupants or guests may have against La Luz, its agents, servants and employees as a result of personal injury suffered while on the La Luz premises. I, on behalf of myself and/or my occupants or guests, hereby fully release and discharge Walter D. Gaines (“Gaines”) from any and all claims for any liability arising from or in any way associated with, directly or indirectly, our use of the pool or other amenities on the La Luz premises, including, but not limited to, physical or mental injury, death, property damage or loss, expense or other loss, even if Gaines is later found to be in breach of any legal obligation owed to me, including, but not limited to, a duty of care in negligence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless and defend Gaines and the La Luz from any and all claims resulting from injuries, damages and losses sustained by me or by my authorized guests, and arising out, connected with, or in any way associated with the La Luz premises and its amenities.
If any portion of this waiver is found to be unlawful or otherwise unenforceable, then that portion will be severed and the remainder of the waiver will remain enforceable.
I have had sufficient time to read and understand the entire waiver, and have agreed to the terms freely and voluntarily. I understand that, in signing this waiver I will be giving up certain important legal rights, including the right to sue, and that Gaines and his agents have relied on my full release and waiver in allowing me to rent the La Luz.
I am not relying upon any oral or written statements made to me, other than what is written in this waiver.
In the above document, "I" equals the renter of La Luz, by agreeing to rent La Luz the renter (I) agrees to everything in the above Waiver of Liability. The maximum occupancy is 8 guests and only by prior arraignment , at an additional charge of $50 per night over 6 guests paid in advance or at the time of check-in. The 8 guest maximum must be strictly adhered to and will be enforced by immediate eviction action via La Luz approved agents, caretakers, or law enforcement officers. No refunds will be given if La Luz appointed personnel -caretakers and or law enforcement officers are called to this property to enforce, eviction actions and or loud noise complaints and or violations of county noise ordinance or policy. No fireworks or firearms are permitted on La Luz property. Thanks for your understanding.
Missing La Luz towels will be charged against the security deposit at a rate of $10 per towel.
Smoking inside the home is not permitted.
We do not allow pets of any kind.
Any failure to disclose the correct number of guests will be grounds for termination of contract. Any failure to disclose pertinent guest information as it relates to the terms of rental and use of the property will result in termination of contract.
We love our half-and-half life between the stunning views of the Coachella Valley and a nautical life on San Diego Bay, where we maintain a sailboat at a well-known San Diego marina. We embrace the challenges of home and boat ownership, maintenance and propriety. It's a great way to keep our quality of life at the very best.
