Feel big in this small space! The yurt sits in the middle of 100 acres with the comforts of a kitchen, toilet, clawfoot tub, soft towels & sheets and a woodstove. Close to Asheville's breweries, music, and restaurants, as well as area hiking/rafting, yet a private getaway.
A yurt is a round structure traditionally used by Asian nomadic peoples, meant to be taken down and moved. This one, however, stays right where it is. Updated with amenities for comfort, we intend for your stay in this yurt to be peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen includes a hot plate, toaster oven, fridge, sink, dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. There is a charcoal grill (charcoal provided), indoor toilet and a claw-foot tub, relaxing seating inside and outside, as well as cozy sleeping for 4. The yurt is situated in the middle of a private 100 acre farm, with no other house for 360 degrees of countryside viewing. We are a small working farm, so you can see the gardens, horses and goats as you explore. There is a double bed fitted with soft organic bedding, as well as a futon mattress in a loft to sleep 1 or a cozy 2 people under the clear dome of the yurt which looks up at the stars.
Guests will have access to hike the entire 100 acres, visit with farm animals, and canoe in the pond. As vegetables, fruit, and mushrooms ripen in our gardens, guests will be welcome to pick lettuce, blueberries, shiitakes, etc.
I will be available by phone or email with my guests as much as they need. As it is a working farm, I am usually around the farm feeding horses or otherwise on a daily basis. So, chances are I will meet every guest at some point in their stay, but then the space is yours to relax.
We ask that you keep in mind the location of the yurt is in the country. It is not uncommon to hear coyotes or gunshots at times, which echo through the mountains. Neither of these are a threat to our guests, just part of the experience! And please plan to bring sensible shoes if you choose to hike around.
We expect our guests to relax and make themselves at home. We do not allow dogs since there are numerous livestock on the farm and we wouldn't want any animal or a guest's pet to be harmed. There is no smoking allowed inside the yurt, but outside on the porch is fine. Final rule....Enjoy Yourselves!

I grew up in Marshall, NC with back-to-the-land parents, watching them raise sheep, make cheese, spin wool, grow gardens and the like. After college, I decided to come back to this special town and start a family of my own on a piece of land. With horses, cows, goats, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and a garden, we have our hands full and boots dirty, but love every minute of it. So if you're inspired by the song of the mountains, the electricity of nearby Asheville or the excitement of new places, come stay with us! Kindly, Anna and Marco
