One of the best locations in Dublin. Forget taxis. Foodie heaven and the city's funkiest venues are just a stone's throw away. Next morning watch the city wake slowly from its slumber with breakfast on the balcony during spring & summer months.
You're right beside Trinity College, Book of Kells and it's a 12 min stroll to National Museums of Archaeology & Natural History, Christ Church Cathedral, National Convention Centre and Silicon Docks. Just seconds from Ireland's best mattress!
We have a really airy space, lovely tall ceilings, wide hall, floor-to-ceiling glazed living room walls ...and a fantastic balcony. From spring to early autumn breakfast is set-up out there ...where you can relax with a coffee and watch urban life kick into gear.
We have decorated with contemporary art & quirky bits & pieces from travels around the world ..and gifts from globetrotting friends.
If you're looking for that perfect mix, a cozy home to retreat to (away from the madness and all-night busking of Temple Bar) with everything on your doorstep, mixed with a warm & welcoming dose of good old fashioned Irish hospitality (friendly & welcoming without smothering) ....then look no further.
Trust me, you will love staying here as much as we enjoy welcoming you to share our home.
We hope to have taken care of the tiny details so you can throw yourself into a fantastic trip.
We have learned to improve the guest experience from tips that earlier guests have shared. Little things like.....
- make-up towel for ladies (who knew such a thing existed)
- a bunch of fluffy white towels (set of face, hand and bath towel per guest)
- electricity adapter (from US and Continental to IRL/UK)
- small free-standing mirror for make-up
- and we can dig out our iron & board if you let us know
Make (EMAIL HIDDEN)e and go at any time of day or night.
There's a large roof-top terrace to check out in good weather: great view of the Dublin mountains from there.
And throughout your stay the full size bathroom beside your bedroom is exclusively yours.
If there's anything I've forgotten just fire across a question before you book.
In the morning you'll find the table set for breakfast - it's a 'help-yourself' affair so you can ease into the day slowly if you're not a big morning person. Breakfast is from a range of granola, fruit, West Cork Yoghurt (you have to taste it), eggs, cheese, teas (regular & herbal: mint, green, jasmine, earl grey), Lavazza, orange & mango juice ...or cloudy apple. Choices vary by the day to day but at times we might surprise you with cold meats, or smoked salmon and capers. My homemade porridge goes down a (URL HIDDEN) not what you had as a kid don't worry :)
Or throw a few things in the fridge and cook up a storm for yourself. I sometimes make pancakes & syrup, fruit salad or bake scones at the weekends when I'm not working ...and you're welcome to give me a hand if you feel like getting stuck in.
If there's something particular you'd like waiting for your arrival (special dietary needs) let me know in advance and I'll do best to seek it out.
We try not to get under your feet ..but happy to give advice on Dublin's funky night life, great places to eat (fine dining or something more casual) along with what's happening in the arts and startup tech scene.
If you're traveling with a child of any age there's plenty of room and we have an inflatable mattress (single) at no extra cost once accompanied by two guardians. Just let us know when you're booking.
Love kids and babies are very welcome. We do not have a baby cot but have been delighted to welcome guests with babies in the past. A baby crying to be fed during the night is the most natural thing in the world and will never stress us out.
It's a pretty easy-going home where good sense prevails. Indoors is a smoke-free space (thanks for understanding) but there are wonderful city views from the balcony if you want to grab a sneaky holiday smoke :)
Recently I've been asked if we have cats ..but no we don't. If the Cat in the Hat makes an enquiry we just might consider giving him a reservation - seems like he'd be gas craic.

I'm a pretty upbeat, enthusiastic guy who get's along with just about anyone. I admire people who aren't afraid to dream big and have a positive impact on everyone they come into contact with. I love Music Festivals (Electric Picnic, Body & soul), Art, Architecture and exploring off the beaten path. Fan of User-Experience (software, exhibitions, spaces), interested in tech startups, aim to go through life learning something new every day. So far so good.
I love the Wild Atlantic Way coast ...a spectacular rugged stretch of coastline inhabited by the friendliest people in Ireland. Now I'm living in the thick of central minutes stroll to the main social hub around Dame St / South William St and I'm (very slowly) restoring an old country house built in the mid-1800s in Ireland's rural lake-district.
