If you're coming to Austin City Limits this October, you'll find this cottage convenient and comfortable. Less than 10 minutes from downtown Austin and the airport - a great place to stay for ACL, Formula One and other Austin events. Ride-share makes it easy to get to all the downtown and Barton Springs events. Relax on the private deck with a beautiful view or inside cozy cottage after an exciting day enjoying Austin festivities and events.
This quiet little place is very convenient for all your Austin activities. Less than 10 minutes to the airport, downtown, from the cottage, you can easily get to all Austin City Limits venues, The University of Texas, the Convention Center, SOCO - lively South Congress with many restaurants and live music venues including the Continental Club and Guero's Taco Bar. It's a beautiful half-mile Country. You can relax on the deck that looks out onto a private half-acre walk to the bus stop. Or have ride share car or taxi pick you up at the door.
East Austin with its new bars, bistros and cafes is just a short drive over the river for dining and music at East Side Showroom, Gypsy, Cenote Cafe and other great places.
The cottage is a little over a mile from the Ladybird Lake hike & bike trail -- I walk to the trail, past the ACC Golf Course and Ruiz Library, as part of my workout sometimes. The beautiful McKinney Falls State Park, where you can hike, picnic, swim and fish, is nearby.
The cottage is a perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring Austin, visiting The University of Texas or taking a drive through the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The house features original long-leaf pine floors; adjustable track lighting; fully-equipped kitchen, one bath - with bathtub and shower; one bedroom with queen-sized bed.
The house is eco-friendly and comfortable for chemically sensitive people. Take a walk down the country road and pass by a spring-fed pond that is home to whistler ducks, the yellow-crowned night heron and I've seen the great blue heron here.
The neighbors are friendly. If you are here on a Monday night, you might join the weekly neighborhood music jam.
You'll love staying here, and I look forward to seeing you soon!
I love to have guests and provide snacks and quick breakfast items for your convenience. Please let me know if you have special dietary needs. I'll meet you here when you arrive. Once you are checked in, you have the place to yourself. Most of the time I'm away but occasionally stay nearby. If I'm out of town during your stay, I'll put you in touch with a friend who will be in town and available if you need anything.
I live in a quiet peaceful neighborhood where people are friendly and like having new people on the road. My house features, as much as possible, a toxic-free environment for people who are sensitive to chemicals and contact with animals, so no pets are allowed and no smoking except outside as long as windows and doors are closed.
I'm looking forward to being your host when you visit Austin. I enjoy traveling and exploring different cultures and beautiful natural areas. I've met some great people staying with other Airbnb hosts. I work as a writer and yoga teacher. I enjoy dancing, and I sing and I sing play accordion in a band.
I've lived in Austin for more than a decade so I can offer ideas for places to explore in Austin whether you're a nature-lover, a live music fan or want to know the best places to eat.
Austin is a great place to live and you'll enjoy visiting here. There is so much natural beauty in the Texas Hill Country with our springs, rivers, rolling hills and wildflowers. It's true that the star at night, shine big and bright deep in the heart of Texas -- We have some of the most spectacular night-time skies in the country! I like hiking and swimming in the beautiful cool waters of our precious springs. At night there is always live music and great places to eat. I'll give you my list of favorites when you come for a visit.
I hope you'll stay at my sweet little cottage when you visit Austin.
