Hyper-convenient, bright, & calm space, equidistant from Union Square & Washington Square, East Village, West Village, Chelsea & Gramercy. GREAT food, theaters, comedy, & music w/i walking distance. Limited access to private terrace w/ views.
My south-facing, ultra-convenient duplex apartment w/ terrace and skylight is located in the historic Cast Iron Building. The energy of Manhattan is all around my very centrally located apartment. When you're home, watch the WTC Freedom Tower sparkle at sunset or gaze upon the peaceful and majestic Grace Church lit up at night.
Within blocks of NYU, Parsons/The New School, and buildings belonging to SVA, be ready for energy, activity, and the burgeoning life you see in movies of NYC. There are endless world famous restaurants, markets, shops, theaters, galleries, and performance spaces within walking distance; but if you need, 3 major subway lines are exactly 3 blocks away at Union Square. Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Cafe, Il Mulino, Otto, Little Tokyo, Little India, IFC Center, Cinema Village, Angelika, Film Forum, etc. within 2-10 blocks. Williamsburg is just across the river on the L train (5-10 min) and the High Line is minutes away in the other direction (2-5 min).
It's a clean and colorful space that easily accommodates a respectful couple or individual woman.
You'll be sharing my apartment with my cat (Ziggy Stardust) and me - you in the private bedroom downstairs and me upstairs in the open plan bedroom/office upstairs. There are WiFi, Sonos, & a dishwasher. There's a laundry room in the building's basement, open from 6am-11:59pm. There's also limited access to my private terrace (accessible only through my bedroom/office). There's a beautiful public terrace for the building as well but it's closed for now. I'll update if/when they re-open it.
I'm looking for respectful guests to share my place with me. I live here full-time and work from home (in sustainability/finance). I am an avid theater-goer (Broadway, off-, and off-off) as well as an art lover (more museums than galleries) and outdoor enthusiast - I'll likely be able to advise you on those things. Additionally, if you're interested in vegetarian food, comedy, or yoga/meditation, all the better!
Sunset drinks on my terrace, if you like, on certain nights during the warmer months (May-Nov).
NO TV OR MICROWAVE, but there is high speed WiFi & Sonos.
1) No smoking anywhere - indoors or outdoors on terrace.
2) The building is a coop and the interior is post-war, so please be respectful of the neighbors (& me).
3) Please turn off heat/air conditioning and lights before you go out for the day.
4) Please cover outdoor furniture & turn off the lights before you leave the terrace.
I'm an entrepreneur with an international sustainable development / clean energy / finance background. The decor is generally Tibetan / Asian in my apartment. Because I travel a lot, I appreciate hospitality. Expect as much when you are my guest in Greenwich Village / Union Square!
