We had a GREAT stay at Maria's! I think this review will appear under the "Pink Room" listing, which is what we had booked initially, but Maria actually brought us to the "Red Room" https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/17244866 , which ended up being even better for us as it was an entire little apartment!
Every room, appliance, and fixture in the apartment was spotless, and the towels were tied with cute little ribbons! There were coffee pods, clean dishes, fresh linens and fresh towels. No stains on anything, and everything was in match sets.
The little shaded balcony is SO nice to have in a place like Riomaggiore; we sat out there with a cheap bottle of wine every night. You can see the sea, and it's nice to just look out at the cute little homes on the hills as well. Also, the apartment really is in an amazing location!! We were so happy to not have to carry our luggage up miles of winding hills, haha.
The bed was pretty firm, but the pillows and sheets were very nice. There was also a beautiful, big window in the bedroom which was nice to have open during the day, and there are shutters (in addition to curtains) you can close at night if you like a darker room when you sleep. Also, the air-conditioning was amazingly fast-acting!
NOISE (only because the previous reviewer had complaints)
We didn't have any noise issues! The apartment IS divided into two units, so you can hear your neighbours fairly clearly, but only when they are near the dividing door, so that was never an issue for us. You can hear footsteps and normal day-to-day noises in the building, but it wasn't bothersome at all. I am a very noise-sensitive person, so if I was fine, you should be! Everyone in the building seemed respectful of noise levels during the day and the building was VERY quiet at night.
The apartment felt safe and secure, and Maria was easy to get in touch with. Any time Aaron (I'm writing this review on behalf of both of us) messaged her, she responded to him within minutes. She greeted us at the station and said we could leave our bags at her father's apartment after we checked out (in case we wanted to stay in the town longer).
We loved our stay and would definitely recommend Maria!
