Welcome to Jasmine Garden Oasis—3 blocks from beaches. Three rooms in our home: Jade Studio upstairs, Ginger & Peach Rooms downstairs--quiet, bright and clean with gardens, hot tub, bicycles, and healing sessions--renewing for heart, body & soul.

We are Marie & Peter, a married couple hosting you in our home located three blocks from the beach. Our three rooms offer either a queen bed (Jade Studio and Peach Room) or double futon bed (Ginger Room), with optional optional single temporary bed in each room, and 10% discount with each additional room you book. We are tucked away from the street near a lovely walk/bike path to the beach--no need to walk on a main street or take a car out into traffic. Our modest garden is serene and renewing . . . grass to sit in or do yoga by the rock waterfall . . . flowering plants, fruit trees and vines . . .porch and brick patios, hot tub . . . with an opportunity for you to receive massage or acupuncture right in your private room or in the garden by healing artists who live nearby. We have some bicycles available for lending in this bicycle-friendly town.
We provide a healthy environment, use green and non-toxic products whenever possible, non-scented soaps and detergents. We are eco-friendly, use solar panels, hang dry clothes when possible, conserve water, and recycle.
We would like to share with you a review from Oct. 2015 that we feel encapsulates the essence of the Peach Room:
The Peach Room in Jasmine Garden was as tranquil and peaceful as it looks and sounds. Marie was right there to welcome me, and showed me around. Peter was very helpful with places to eat, and they had a binder with recommendations on my desk. Very thoughtful! It is comfortable home with a lovely garden, a pond with waterfall, conducive to meditation or simply sitting and enjoying nature. I had all the amenities I required, from a mini fridge to a microwave for a quick oatmeal breakfast or warming up leftovers. If I ever have the need to revisit Santa Cruz, I would definitely consider staying here again. Wonderful hosts, comfortable room and bed, and peaceful setting, minutes from the ocean. What more could one want!

ROOM LAYOUT: Peach Room has a queen bed with pillow-topped mattress, a desk with chair, a tall cabinet, and a bedside table. Additional single bed available (see below). The window to the west overlooks the side garden with its namesake, the peach tree. When the surf is high, you can hear the waves through the open window. Guests in the Peach Room share the single downstairs full bathroom with bath/shower with the guest(s) in the other downstairs guest bedroom (Ginger Room).
EATING: The room has a refrigerator and microwave oven, with dishes and simple breakfast the first morning (instant organic oatmeal and organic fruit). Coffee table available in common room (see below).
COMMON AREAS: The common room has a wood stove and bay window overlooking the gardens with sitting areas, printed local information, and hot water dispenser with coffee and assortment of teas available for guests. This common room is shared by guests from all three guest rooms. The garden with its patios, pond & waterfall, hot tub and gentle sound of the surf at night are also shared by all.
ADDITIONAL BED: In case of third guest we make up a tri-fold bed on the floor with linens as an additional single bed. We ask an extra $20 per night for a third person. There is a one-time $20 set-up/clean-up charge if you want the extra bed for only two people occupying the room.

Everything is set up for guests to be independent --We offer four B&B rooms in our home that are self-sufficient, with the garden and hot tub open to all guests. You will find in your room and in the main common room informational notebooks about the property, the neighborhood, healing artists who deliver services to the home, directions to the beach, bike rentals, local eateries, shops, and other Santa Cruz attractions. We invite guests to join us in our morning practices (whether beginners or advanced) of 6:30am QiGong/Tai Chi, 7:00am yoga, and 7:30am meditation. If we are not home when you need something, then we are accessible by Airbnb messaging or texting. Regular housekeepers come almost daily and when we are gone for extended periods a guest host stays in our home.

PARKING: The carport is a loading/unloading zone only. Please pull partway under the carport and do not leave your vehicle unattended. The area needs to be open for emergency vehicles for the sake of our neighbors. Your car can be parked free of charge on our quiet residential street.
NOISE: Our house has three Airbnb rooms, and sound travels in our home, so please be considerate of others during our quiet hours (9:00pm to 7:30am). Due to this we try to restrict the house furnace in the winter months to 5:00 to 6:00am.
NO SHOES: Because we are a shoes-free home, slip-on slippers and slip-on garden shoes are handy to leave inside and outside the door.
CHECK-IN, CHECK-OUT: Check-in time is 3:00pm and check-out time is 11:00am. Feel free to leave luggage on the porch and make yourselves at home if you wish to arrive early or stay late.
BICYCLES: (1) To borrow our bicycles, there is no charge, but we ask for donations (suggested $10 per day). Contact us if you want to reserve them. They are for road and bike path use only, not mountain biking or beach biking. (2) Rental bikes are available from Bicycle Trip, which includes a pick-up and drop-off service. (3) If you bring your own you can lock them in our back yard or under our carport.
HEALING SESSIONS: If you are interested in receiving massage, acupuncture, cranio-sacral therapy or Rolfing here, then message me and I will send you our list of healing artists so that you can make your appointment before you arrive.
WATER CONSERVATION: Santa Cruz area is vulnerable to water shortage. We have installed low flush toilets, we re-use grey water when possible, and we ask our guests to minimize their water usage.

NO SMOKING: No smoking of any kind (See below for details).
NO SHOES: Please remove shoes before stepping in the door.
NO PETS: Although we love pets, no pets please.
QUIET HOURS: 9:00pm to 7:30am. We practice respect and quiet for our guests, and expect the same from them. Sound travels easily through the walls in our home, so please be mindful of that. We awaken early before dawn and often go to bed with the dusk. We invite our guests to join us for yoga, meditation and QiGong in the morning. You are free to come and go anytime of morning or night, but please be mindful of quiet hours.
HOT TUB: If you use the hot tub, first shower with soap and tie hair up. This enables us to use minimum chemicals. Please add a cup of hydrogen peroxide per person into the water when you leave the hot tub.
COMMUNICATE: Please read the house description and manual. We encourage you to communicate with us immediately when there is anything you need or want. We want our guests to be happy and we appreciate timely and helpful feedback.
RECYCLING: We ask that you recycle your trash, and we provide triple trash baskets in your rooms for recycling, composting & trash.
WATER RATIONING: We have to ration water carefully due to the Santa Cruz water restrictions. Per recommendations by the county water department, we have installed 5-minute gauges in the showers. If you turn the shower water off while you lather with soap and use water only for rinsing, 5 minutes is usually sufficient time for a good shower.
HEALING SESSIONS: If you make an appointment with a massage therapist or acupuncturist on the list we provide, we ask that you pay them the cost of the session if you have to cancel (less travel cost) because they have set aside the time for their house call for you.
IF YOU SMOKE: Walk beyond the driveway to the street before you smoke. Please keep all your butts--do not throw them in yards, inside our house, or in the street, and dispose of them in a plastic bag inside the gray trash barrel behind the carport stairs. Some of us are sensitive/allergic to tobacco & other smokables.

If you're looking for a retreat within the city, this is a great place to stay. Tucked away off the street, and within a short walk to multiple beaches and restaurants, the location is great, and with coffee and a jacuzzi available at your disposal, what more can you ask for! At night, you can literally hear the waves crashing on the shore from the room - pretty special. My room came stocked with organic oatmeal, fruits, and a fresh jar of water; having a personal fridge and microwave was a great extra touch too. If I come back up, I'd definitely stay here again - thanks for a great stay!

Marie's house was a great stay; I needed a place close to 41st Ave. in Capitola as I was there to do some work for my IT business. I found the communication great, the room VERY cozy, and the location perfect. Also, the wifi worked great, which is necessary for me. Thank you!

had wonderful meditation sessions each night with the pinch-hit host Jim...definitely my type of environment: low-key, honest, forthright, healthy! Thanks...

We, Peter & Marie, are a married couple who relish offering our sweet space & location to guests. We enjoy living in a tranquil atmosphere and want to share this with others of like mind at our home, Jasmine Garden Oasis near the Sea. It is a modest home tucked away in a modest neighborhood three blocks from the beach in east Santa Cruz with three B&B rooms--2 rooms downstairs with a shared bath and a private separate studio upstairs. We keep gentle gardens and cosy comfortable atmosphere for people who want a time of renewal for body and soul. Mornings we visit the quiet beach to listen to the surf and watch the dawn, and evenings the dusk. We invite guests to join us for early morning yoga and/or meditation in our common room or on the lawn by the pond and waterfall. We have a list of massage therapists and acupuncturists who have offered to deliver their services to our guests in their private rooms.
