In the southern most region of Nicaragua, Escameca is one of Nicaragua´s best kept secrets with abundant wild life. Walking distance to surf Playa El Yankee and Escameca Grande.

The cabañas are within a few minutes walk to the ocean. Saline infinity pool with swim up bar and cool water jacuzzi . Host lives on site. Our staff can prepare meals and arrange activities. Just send a private message for advanced coordination to make the most out of your stay. The main essentials are in the cabana but the area is very undeveloped so having a vehicle would be useful so you can drive to the store or restaurants if necessary otherwise staff onsite can prepare meals. It would be best to arrive with snacks but there is a mini fridge with beverages and meals for an additional cost. You can drive to the town of Escamecita where there are a few good local restaurants and bars. There is no main grocery store here and the town of San Juan del Sur is 14km away. You will find a few small pulerias in Escamecita where you can buy beverages and small items. We create a culinary experience you won’t forget.

Guests have access to the cabana and common area chill out WiFi zone and yoga space. If you need to rent additional cabanas or the house without the host onsite, that can be arranged. Please send a message.

It’s a very unique area off the beaten path. It’s located in nature at the sea side without many people around unless you walk to neighboring beaches for socializing. Local Nicaraguan and expats live in the area and it’s easy to make friends if you are outgoing. Most people speak a little English but be prepared to speak Spanish. Host speaks both English and Spanish. The cabanas have screens in place to avoid mosquitos and insects. It is best to bring sunscreen, bug spray, comfortable walking shoes. Please have a conversation with the host prior to arrival to make sure preparations are made so you have a smooth comfortable vacation. Kitchen is open from 8am -6:30pm. Meals must be arranged in advance. Pool and Pool bar closes at 7:30pm. No kids or dogs allowed on property. Early check in and late check out will have an additional charge. No outside food or beverage is permitted.

It’s very secluded and undeveloped but other small beach side restaurants are accessible by walking 10 minutes. Bring comfortable trail shoes. Staff can prepare meals and arrange transportation for additional cost when prior arrangements are made.

Hola, I'm Heidi, the creator and owner of Santosha Surf Sanctuary & Wellness in southern Nicaragua. My days are filled with the love for the ocean and the peace of the jungle. Let me host you at this beautiful sanctuary! Santosha Surf Sanctuary is located between Playa Yankee and Escameca. I have lived in Nicaragua since October 2010 and am a legal resident. This developing country has taught me many valuable lessons. Airbnb guests arrive as travelers and leave as friends so I never say goodbye or adios but rather see you soon hasta pronto.
