Our home is cozy and filled with art, books and warmth. Guests may enjoy the living room and dining room as well as cook in the kitchen, if you'd like. You may also eat outside on the back deck with a view of the gardens.
We are a 20-min walk and 5-min. drive from Main St. and many delicious eateries and beautiful shops.
While we keep our pets out of the guest room and the house well swept, we do have a small dog, an old cat and a rabbit.
There are two twin beds in the guest room. The room is small but comfortable and filled with favorite books.
Guests have the downstairs bathroom with shower and tub. There is some space in the refridgerator; dishes, cooking pans, and utensils are available. It is possible to do laundry--especially if we can make a full load. Winter parking off the street is available next to the driveway; spring summer & fall parking is on the street. In nice weather, the back deck and picnic table with umbrella and tablecloth are available.
This is a room in our home so we interact daily, especially in the kitchen. That said, we live busy lives and let our guests have their privacy.
We heat with a pellet furnace and forced hot air. For environmental and economic reasons, we tend to have a warm-enough house, with slightly cooler temperatures at night and sleep well under comforters.
On rare hot weeks in the summer, we run a window a/c unit. Window fans are used throughout the summer. Guests have reported our home comfortable, private, and restful.
Quiet hours 9pm to 7am.
No loud music (use earbuds).
No burning candles in room.
No drunk guests or drug use.
Wifi and filtered water
Our home is a place to rejuvenate and have quiet time (mostly) in the midst of our busy lives in southern Vermont. We have traveled to China, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, El Salvador, and the UK. I have lived in the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest. As a traveler, I prefer to stay with friends or family whenever possible.
I enjoy having guests. I am a friendly yet reserved host -- will make sure you are comfortable, help you make connections in town, and then give you your privacy. A shared cuppa joe and friendly conversation are also welcome.
We enjoy films, reading, the arts, and learning. In the summer, the gardens are filled with perennials and easy to grow vegetables. Our old animals amuse us and behave most of the time. I have practiced Reiki since 1985 (rei(URL HIDDEN). Please ask to schedule a Reiki treatment if you'd like (extra charge: $70/75-min. session)
