Casa Azul is a beautiful 3 bedroom 4 bath beachfront home with a private pool located directly on the beach of Guasacate, in the famous surf region of Popoyo.
Casa Azul is a 3 bedroom private beachfront home sleeping up to 6 at the price of $250 per night. The house has enough beds to sleep up to 13. Each additional person is an additional $15/person/night.
Guasacate is a quiet little beach stretch located to the north of Popoyo. The beach is very quiet with little traffic. The Popoyo surf break is a 15 minute walk south from the house or you can make a quick drive to the end of the road and park and head out to surf. There are beautiful tide pools worth visiting located about a 20 minute walk north.
Also located in the Popoyo area are Magnific Rock (an amazing rock formation hikeable at low tide), hot springs, cultural fishing villages to explore and numerous beaches to visit.
If your planning to do some site seeing it would be wise to rent a vehicle. This can be done in Managua. During the rainy season 4x4 is recommended. We can arrange airport pickup and drop off if needed.
Nica Vida is equipped with a 4x4 land cruiser and a 30 panga for those looking to do some surfing and/or fishing.
Renting Casa Azul gives you full access to all areas inside the home as well as the spacious back porch, pool and beach area.
Please do your research ahead of time and be prepared that you are coming to a very rural location. Do your shopping while in the city as there are very few stores here.
Items to bring: Cash (nearest ATM is an hr drive away), passport, few surfboards, 2 or more leashes, plenty of wax, baggies, rash guards, spring suit or wetsuit top (only for Jan-Mar), Sunscreen, hat, beach towel, flashlight, bug spray, long sleeve shirt & pants for night if the bugs are out, camera, first aid essentials (bandaids, gauze, Neosporin), basic meds (Tylenol, Imodium AD, allergy meds), hygiene items (soap, toothbrush & toothpaste, shampoo & conditioner). There is very little available in Popoyo, bring what you'll need.
Please treat our home the way you would expect guests to treat yours. Electricity is extremely expensive in Nicaragua, please use it sparingly and help us to keep our operating costs down. Please double check to make sure all electricity is turned off before leaving the home each day. Also fresh water is a luxury here and needs to be used cautiously. All beach front homes are fed off of salt water. We have access to minimal fresh water but when used in excess, it runs out. Please take quick showers and only as needed. All indoor and porch areas are non smoking. Thank you for understanding.
