Private, pretty antique home , less than a 2 hour ride from NYC and a 10 minute walk to the historic Washington Green and Gunnery School. The property is graced with mature gardens and trees, a large covered porch, pond and abundant wildlife. Owner lives in private wing of home and caters to the guests with a large breakfast, snacks and concierge services with as much or as little engagement as you wish.
The space provided includes three bedrooms, one large bedroom with a queen size bed, the other medium size bedroom with a queen size bed (both with a new mattress) and another with a single bed. A full bath with tub on the second floor services these bedrooms. The third floor (the tree house) has a cathedral ceiling, a full bath and soaking tub, a large flat screen TV, an L shaped deep sofa (perfect for sleeping in front of the TV!) and a large library of movies for all ages. Deep, wide windows bathe the room with light on two sides while providing a view of the grounds and pond.
The covered porch, overlooking the gardens is perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails. A cacophony of bird songs will entertain you in the morning and the frogs will begin the songs at night to be followed by hoot owls.
Guests will have access to the second and third floor, the grounds, porch, patios and pond. Although there are no kitchen privileges (except for use of the refrigerator) a continental breakfast will be served and prepared to your specifications for dietary limitations.
We live in the lower level of the house.
I tend to be an "Italian Mother" when it comes to servicing your needs. I respect the value of letting everyone do their own thing in privacy. We're there for any question or concern but won't hover.
No matter what the season, there is always beauty and interesting things to do here. Please let me know what your interests are (even if it's chilling out in private, undisturbed peace and quiet) and we will guide and provide for you accordingly.
We have two friendly, non territorial dogs who love the company of other dogs. If you choose to bring your dog please bring a crate when unsupervised, we do not have fencing around the property.
A fee of $35 will be charged for a two day stay with your dog. If you have a sixth person who doesn't mind sleeping on the sofa on the third floor (there is a full bath there) an extra $35 a day will be charged. The sofa is wide, long and quite comfortable.
There's no smoking inside and no kitchen privleges. Pets are allowed if they will get along with my two friendly dogs but they must be crated or kept inside the room when not here.

Steve is a musician, singer, songwriter and Grace is a local realtor with a penchant for entertaining. Both have publishing backgrounds in the city and originally hail from the mid-west, with a down to earth, fun and ageless quality about their sensibilites.
Grace enjoys hiking, biking, cooking and a really good laugh. Steve plays all sorts of music, loves conversations about music, history, art and yes, he also enjoys a good laugh.
With a great deal of travel experience and knowledge of what makes a “comfortable stay” they will provide a low key, private, space for you to escape to with as much attention as you request.
Before booking and after your discussions, they will customize your stay based on the type of experience you wish to have while in Litchfiled County...they “get it”.
