A Folk Victorian classic, this unique historic rental is located on the outskirts of the village of Lake George, roughly 1 mile North. Restored great room, tin walls, ceiling, stage and chalkboards, furnished with antiques makes it warm and cozy!
The stone structure dates back to the 1850's. It has a an original bell and old slate chalk boards. The unique space has one formal bedroom with a large glass door access to the deck. The more informal sleeping quarters is hosed in a small 12' square "tea house" style building. It can be a get away space too, great for meditation or quiet activities. The School house has a large open space concept living room/dinning room, it can be used as another sleeping quarters if so. I have a queen and twin size blow up bed, so creatively, it can sleep more. I do have a pack in play for use as well.
The kitchen is equipt with a professional cook stove, large Refrigerator, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The wrap around porch, slate patio, fire pit and gas grill make outdoor gatherings fun.
Being on a four corner four way stop is surprisingly quiet, far from the madding crowd. The back yard looks into the woods, with a privacy fence on the street side. Safe for children and animals too, there is a big copper gate that keeps all safe and private on the yard side
Guests will have full access to the School house. The walk in basement is used for storage and not for use by guests.
I be there at your arrival to help walk you through a few things and answer questions. Emergency numbers for guests to access if an emergency occurs are available to call and alert me to get help. I will not be present during a guests stay.
Since the structure is stone, it is naturally air conditioned. There are ceiling fans in all the rooms even the Tea house outside. There are books games and children s toys to use plus a piano at your finger tips. If you have things to store, like bikes or a boat, etc. there is room underneath the wrap around porch.
When leaving. all sheets and towels can be put in vestibule at the entrance of the school house. Dishes need to be washed and returned to cabinet. If you find something and use it up, please replace it for the next guest. If something breaks or an accident happens please respectfully let me know, all things can be fixed cleaned or corrected. I respect honesty wholeheartedly. If you have a pet please be respectful of furniture and surroundings. If you smoke please smoke outside.
Because of allergies to some guests, pets are discouraged respectfully so.

I have lived in and made the Old Stone School House my "labor of love". I studied art here a long time ago with a teacher that inspired me to continue, to, in her words "never stop painting". I love the space and character of the stone building, its beautiful bell and large six foot windows. It is a very safe place and echoes the past as you sit still in its space.
It is cut out for a unique type of visitors who can be creative with its unusual layout.
It sleeps five, but only has one large formal bedroom. It also can creatively sleep one or two in an out building that I call the "Japanese tea house". The school house it self can also be converted to a private bedroom. It has a a two large couches one that converts to a Queen memory foam bed at will (with a blow up queen, twin) I do also have a pack n play. The kitchen has a dish washer, professional grade stove and large refrigerator, washer and dryer.
I am a local artist and retired art teacher. I have lived in the area for 17 years and just love being in the Adirondack Mountains. Love access to the lakes, the local beaches, as well as instruct skiing during the colder seasons. Biking the garnet glistening roads is also a great way to disappear into the Adirondacks beauty.
I travel to Texas often to visit my daughter and her family, always looking forward to getting back to this great area and climate.
I would love to have visitors who respect the rustic tin walled school feeling and the history it emits. Because of its nature, it is a very versatile accommodating humble place to experience!
