Peter is a former Senior Research Scientist with Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge MA. He has since become a Sea Kayaking Instructor/Maine Guide and owner of Driftwood Kayak in Deer Isle. If you'd like to go on a sea kayaking trip to nearby islands during your stay, let Peter know.
Christine is an Emerson College graduate and has been a reporter, an editor and a teacher. She writes books for middle-grade readers under the name Christine Brodien-Jones and is the author of three fantasy novels published by Random House: "The Owl Keeper," "The Scorpions of Zahir" and "The Glass Puzzle."
Christine and Peter and their Welsh Terrier Pippa divide their time between Deer Isle, Maine and Gloucester, Mass. They spend most winters in Argentina where Christine continues writing plots for her novels and Peter studies Spanish. Three years ago they completed a five week 500-mile walk across northern Spain, shown here during a break above the clouds in Galicia near Santiago.
