Located in Central Square, Cambridge one of the best locations in Boston. The location is perfect whether your stay is for business or pleasure.
Location: Right between MIT and Harvard (Both are 5 minutes away by public transport, or a lovely 15-20 min walk).
Transportation: A five minute walk from Central Square subway ‘T’ stop on the Red Line; the #1 Bus which runs up and down Massachusetts Avenue; and a cab stands.
Our Central Square station is only 3 stops (a 10 minute ride) to downtown Boston over the beautiful Charles River. This is a great location for visiting Cambridge colleges and universities. There is safe on-street parking in our neighborhood, please let us know if you need parking so we can arrange your visitor parking permit, there are two outdoor bike racks to store your bike.
The condo has a very open floor plan for the entryway, kitchen, and living room with a private porch with grill and seating. Since we’re on the third floor you can see the Prudential Center from the Master Bedroom. We have a cat that is friendly.
Amenities in the apartment include: washer/dryer, wifi, hulu, netflix and Amazon TV, modern kitchen, central air and heating. We supply guests with towels and toiletries (Shampoo, Conditioner and Soap) so no need to check your bags to get liquids through. We also have a hair dryer, iron and laundry supplies.
Living Room: Large couch (king size pullout bed), bar equipment, dining table that expands to seat up to 12.
Kitchen: Full kitchen with dishwasher, dishes and cookware. Help yourself to both the equipment and food. During the summer we have a weekly local produce (CSA) with tons of fresh veggies for you to take advantage of and there’s a Whole Foods and natural food co-op to stock up on more.
Two Bedrooms: Master bedroom has a queen size bed with attached full bath (whirlpool tub) and organic bedding and towels provided. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with two twin mattresses with unattached full bath (shower). Bunkbeds are solid wood and hold adults up to 400 pounds. Space between bunkbed and ceiling is tall enough for my 6'3" husband to sit comfortably. Organic linens will be provided.
We're very knowledgeable about the area, and happy to help in any way we can! There are many excellent restaurants and bars nearby, including nationally recognized Craigie on Main and Oleana, with diverse local favorites like Pepper Sky Thai, Dosa Factory Indian, and Tosconini’s homemade ice cream.
Please contact me before booking to confirm available dates. Maximum occupancy is 6 people. We're looking forward to hosting you!
We have a cat that is friendly. For stays the extend beyond two nights, you can either arrange with us to feed her (if you want to) or our cat-sitter will stop in once a day.
You will be given a code to access our key lockbox.
We will be out of town whenever airbnb guests are staying with us.
Our cat will be with you during your stay. She is extremely friendly and does cat things like sleep and meow and sit on objects (like your suitcase).
Please strive to leave our house the same way you found it when you arrived. Smoking outside house is fine, not inside, just clean up your butts. Light drinking, but respect our neighbors by keeping voices and music moderate. Please provide your own alcohol and leave ours, though you're welcome to enjoy any of the food in the fridge and cabinets and use any laundry detergent and other household supplies you need. Please be mindful of the wood surfaces and use coasters and trivets for drinks and warm/hot containers. Have fun, enjoy the condo and Cambridge.
We like to protect the earth so please recycle; everything recyclable can be put in one co-mingled bin, take reasonable showers, and turn off the lights when you're not around. Good karma household rules. Good karma rules the house.
I live and work in Cambridge, MA, but I grew up in Maryland outside of DC. I work as a community organizer for the City of Cambridge to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy. I'm married, have a friendly cat and a little girl. I love my Central Square neighborhood, exploring new restaurants and doing new things. I walk/bike or take the T pretty much everywhere, though my zipcar membership gets me out of town for camping and skiing.
I practice Bikram Yoga and spend my weekends either hanging out with friends or doing/dreaming about home improvements.
