Enjoy this quiet yet centrally located apartment with parking and a bus stop on your doorstep. It combines antique furniture with a modern kitchen and two luxurious baths. Not to mention the view of the cathedral and Wi-fi!
Palio tickets available for Juli and August, each year, on a very good balcony on Piazza del Campo (have a look to the pictures!). Just ask!
The tasteful furnishings in our family apartment reflect the love and care we have put into it and clearly distinguish these accommodations from typical vacation rentals that only offer the bare necessities. The apartment is located in a quiet residential area close to San Domenico, just a 10-minute stroll from the center of town.
The house is built on a slope: The apartment is actually on the 4th floor but it is half a floor below the main entrance (about 20 steps down the stairs without elevator).
All of the rooms feature antique furnishings. Both of the generously sized bedrooms have hardwood parquet floors with a fishbone design, while the yellow marble flooring in the living room creates a unique, colorful accent. The two baths, both with windows, have been completely renovated and feature luxurious amenities. The kitchen provides virtually every convenience you could think of, including a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave oven, refrigerator, oven and of course a gas stove (all of the appliances are new).
The spacious living room offers a magnificent view of the cathedral hill that simply cannot be found anywhere else.
IMPORTANT: A portable air conditioner is available for the master bedroom and living room.
NEW: From February 2016 we have built modern double-glazed windows and new shutters in the apartment, so that you can be sure to sleep well and to be better isolated from cold at winter and heat at summer - the perfect guarantee for wonderful and quiet nights!
Guests have access to everything that is not in closed cabinets.
Only one of the rooms is not accessible to guests – the studio – which contains the family’s personal belongings. But if you've booked for two guests the smaller sleeping room will be kept locked. If you want to use two sleeping rooms by two people, please tell us together with the reservation, because in this case we have to charge an additional fee of 50,- Euro for cleaning and bedclothes.
Our guests may park their car (not bigger than a VW Golf) in front of the garage (too small to park inside), where it will be protected from view and from traffic.
We are not personally on site but we do have a contact in Siena who is available to help or answer any questions you may have, who will let you into the apartment, ensure that it is cleaned after your stay and who will notify a repairman should anything go wrong. So you have all the support you need to enjoy a carefree stay. Incidentally, you can always reach my by phone and I can provide you with assistance if you are unfamiliar with the language.
Would you like to learn Italian in Siena? We know the best schools and would be happy to offer you a few recommendations on how you can make the most of your stay here. The same goes for restaurants and city attractions. We know the area well from our own experience, so don’t hesitate to ask us if you have any questions.
But there is one more reason to visit us: If you have always wanted to see the historic horse race on July 2 and August 16, we can arrange seats for you on request. Experience this exhilarating race from a balcony with a perfect view of the Piazza del Campo. These spots are normally not available, so be sure to take advantage of this extraordinary offer.
No pets allowed!
The apartment is suitable for families in general but perhaps not ideal for small children who could injure themselves on the many sharp corners of the furniture.
ENGLISH: We are Italian citizen, but in our family we always loved travelling and having international experiences. They say home is where the heart is and our heart is in Siena, although we’ve never had the opportunity to live there. We enjoy travelling during the off-season and in regions that remain “unspoiled” by mass tourism. We love Portugal, for example, but not necessarily the tourist areas of Algarve in the summer. Our main priority as a host is to ensure that our guests always feel right at home and view our apartment as their own. After all, this is more than just a vacation rental; this is our family’s apartment, situated in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. This apartment is part of our life story.
