Located in historic Druid Hills, the Sweet Retreat is conveniently situated one mile from downtown Hendersonville and about 25 minutes from Asheville and Brevard. The house was recently renovated to incorporate the many luxuries of the 21st century but maintains it's 1950's charm. It's a short walk to the Oklawaha Greenway, several restaurants and stores, and a quick scenic drive to all the beautiful spots in Western North Carolina.

The house is just under 800 square feet and has 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath. Bedroom 1 has a Queen bed; Bedroom 2 has a Double bed and a Twin bed. Both rooms have full length mirrors, spacious closets, and Dohm Sleep Machines.

The full bath has a combination tub / shower which is perfect for both kids and adults. The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Plenty of white cotton towels can be found in the closet just outside of the bathroom. Don't worry about running out of hot water; the house has a new Rinnai tankless hot water heater that will keep your showers nice and steamy.

There's WIFI available, a Smart TV in the main living area that streams YouTubeTV (streaming cable), a DVD player, Bluetooth speaker and a charging dock. Feel free to log into Netflix or Hulu, or choose one of the many DVD's available.

The cozy living room has a leather sofa, recliner, & club chair, as well as two large ottomans to put your feet up. Extra blankets are available in the bedroom closets. There's also a natural gas fireplace that's perfect for chilly winter nights.

The bright, open kitchen has all new appliances, including a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric range, and many cooking necessities like a blender, ice cream maker, coffee pot, and toaster. There's a small dining table that can double as a workspace if needed. Additional dining chairs are located in the primary bedroom closet.

The mudroom located in the rear of the home has a full-sized washer and dryer, basic cleaning supplies, and a first aid kit. You’ll also find a step stool that's perfect for helping small children reach the sink, a fire extinguisher (which hopefully you won't need to use!), a picnic backpack cooler for taking on hikes, corn hole, bug spray, grilling tools, and hammocks for the yard.

The front exterior has a lovely covered porch complete with a porch swing and two rocking chairs that are perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. Off the rear of the house, there's a fantastic deck for dining al fresco as well as a nice sized yard for relaxing in the hammocks, playing a round of corn hole, or grilling on the charcoal grill. In colder months, there's a table top gas fire pit as well as a wood burning chiminea for guests to enjoy. The yard isn't fully fenced in but does provide lots of privacy.

Want to have a mini spa experience? The house comes with an essential oil diffusor for aromatherapy as well as many spa products available to try. A yoga mat is stored in the hall closet if you want to grab a quick workout.

Did you bring your kids? There are games in the leather ottoman as well as art supplies to keep the little ones happy. If you need sitter recommendations, I can give you those as well.

The Sweet Retreat is truly an oasis in the heart of Historic Hendersonville! The mountains are calling! Come see us!

The home and yard are exclusively yours during your stay. Everyone in our neighborhood is super friendly and the area is very safe.

We purposefully try to keep our cleaning fee lower than most rentals. We really appreciate when our guests leave the house as clean as possible- especially the bathroom and kitchen!

A clean set of sheets can be found at the foot of each bed. We ask that you only make the beds you plan on using. This helps us conserve water and keep our cleaning costs down.

If you would like the beds to be made before your arrival, please let us know which ones and we will try our best to accommodate your request.

Extra linens can be found in the second bedroom closet.

Take a short walk to Joey's New York Bagels for one of the best breakfasts in town, or put on your sneakers on and head to the Greenway that spans 3.25 miles and connects several of our parks. Want to do a little shopping? Head to Honeysuckle Hollow- it's located in the neighborhood. Have children? Cross the street to Patton Park and kick a ball on one of their many fields or hit the playground or skate park. In the summer, the Olympic size pool is open and can be used for a small fee. Up for a longer walk? Downtown is only a mile away and is packed with wonderful restaurants, breweries, stores, and quintessential small town charm.
