Youghal is a heritage town with old town walls, Sir Walter Raleigh's residence at the gate of old church . Join a walking tour from the tourist office and learn all about it.

There is great fishing, beach, river tours, golf walking tracks, leisure centre and amusement centre for the children.

There is a new pub inYoughal called Clancy's near the Strand. There is music there on Friday's and Sunday evenings from 5.30 (usually). The wildlife park in Fota which is great fun too.

The tourist office on the seafront opposite Moby Dick pub will give you all the local information.

There is a small market in Lismore on Sunday mornings where you can also visit the Devonshire Castle gardens. The castle itself overlooks the Blackwater river.

The Pattern occurs in Ardmore in July. In Ardmore there is an ancient Round Tower, little art galleries and pottery shops and the Michelin starred Cliff House hotel. There is a good fish and chipper on the way in to Ardmore, at cross. The White Horses Restaurant there is good too.

Dungarvan is a great town with good shopping, the Walton Park, St. John' Castle and lovely harbour with an important estuary for sea birds.

Middleton Distillery does daily tours and is very popular. There is a good restaurant /cafe there which is good. The Farmgate in Middleton is very good for lunch. You could also visit Shangarry where Ballmaloo House has a top class restaurant but also a cafe where you could have your morning coffee or afternoon tea. Their craft shop is very good.Nearby is Seashell cottage and Rachel Allen's cookery school and shop. Simon Pearce and some pottery shops are nearby. Ballycotton is lovely seaside town with good food.

Cobh hosts the Titanic memorabilia museum. Cobh was the last port that the Titanic stopped at.

Cork with its English market (Queen Elizabeth visited it and she was loved by all). She invited the fish stand owner she chatted to there to her big party when our President Higgins had a state visit to UK). There is a restaurant upstairs there too and in the Crawford Art Gallery.

Waterford city is also worth a visit with its Waterford Glass Centre, St John' Castle, Historic and cultural activities.
There are great restaurants - Ahernes Seafood restaurant, the Lighthouse, the Walter Raleigh, the Old imperial and many others.
There is traditional music in Clancy,s pub on the strand on Sunday evenings from 5.30 (usually) and on Friday and Saturday nights. The food is good too. Children's main 5 euro and adults main hamburger 12.50, fish 18.50. Not cheap but if you want a good evening out you should enjoy it. We went there this week after visiting the wildlife park in Fota which is great fun too.

I did not personally say in the flat as I had booked it for friends but I know that they were delighted with the place, particulary the location. The balcony was practically sitting over the Blackwater River with stunning views.

Amazing view ! The place is perfect. Very good value, near everything. Next time we'll come we will book there again without hesitation. You have all you need, even salt, pepper... Jane (and Phil) are very nice and accommodating. I recommend this apartment !!

The apartment is amazing. Just as listed - the view from the balcony is great. The balcony almost hangs over the water so you can see all of the bay and out to the ocean. 3 bedroom apartment with all the essentials needed (cooking/cleaning) Location is close to shops, restaurants and cash points. I would highly recommend staying here if in Youghal. WiFi costs around 10euros a week and is not included.
