Restored 4b antique home on old raspberry farm in valley 15 min. to historic Annapolis Royal quaint shops, living museums, Fort Anne and trendy restaurants. Near Bay of Fundy, Halifax, warm beaches; Keiji Nat. Park, Digby. Whale watch, fish, relax!
The house has two very comfortable beds, a twin bed, youth bed, and a pull out couch on the first floor. Col. James Delancey's house, "Cowboy of the Bronx" in New York City built this house in late 1700's when he defected from the nation that became the U.S. Yes, he was a loyalist. Old wide pine floors, 6 non-working fireplaces, all on the Annapolis River with fruit trees growing along the banks. For neighbors, we have deer, fox, eagles, osprey. Come bicycle, kayak, hunt mushrooms, and hike.
The entire house and property, except one room in first floor ell, garage, attic and cellar, which are not finished or house me or my belongings. The master bath shower and huge tub are still (sigh) not completely finished, but there is a tub and shower on the first floor, a stall shower on the second floor, and an outdoor shower behind the garage (my favorite, under the stars with a kerosene lamp). All toilets and sinks are fully functional.
It depends on whether I'm in residence in the ell.
The house is fully furnished, towels, sheets, and a complete kitchen.
No smoking in the house and no use of fireplaces or wood stove. Please be careful with food as it can draw mice. Recycling is a must. Use clear bags: one for paper, another for glass, plastic, and tin. Soiled paper and other compost garbage can go in the green bin by the back door. "Private" garbage can go in the black bags--only one every two weeks so use sparingly. It takes a while for the hot water to heat the pipes on the way to the upstairs showers. So, to conserve water, turn on the sink hot water. When it is hot, the shower hot water will be ready.

I love to travel and to read. My house is full of books. We have a good variety of birds outside at our feeders, and a very feisty pet green cheek conure parrot in the house. I teach writing and English literature and am always working on a garden or furniture restoration project either in Topsfield or at the property I own in Nova Scotia, Canada. My daughter lives abroad and I rent her former room out during the semester and travel to visit her whenever I can.
