A beautiful view of Mt. Beacon in a quiet tree cradled home. A healing oasis for you with the enticements of the town and surrounding country so close. Beacon is a walk or bike ride away-about a half mile. New addition! 2 bikes available onsite for $10 a day!
Welcome weary wonderful travelers to The Slumbering Bumble Bee, named after one of the delights found in my garden. There are other treasures to find as you cross the portal onto the land where my home resides. Come and enjoy my home and find a healing arts environment full of warmth, charm, and it's own magical quirkiness. I'm a eco, gluten, holistic conscious woman who loves the idea of being a reverse gypsy. Instead of hopping about, I travel as I meet wonderful people from all over. You might find you enjoy one of my herbal concoctions I make or the sound of the quiet nature filled night or the easy walk or bike ride to Beacon. Then there is always my very loving love loaf of a cat, Willow, who may beguile you.
Beacon is only an hour and a half drive north of New York City, and an easy 80 minute ride on Metronorth's Hudson Line. Beacon is a fabulous little town with excellent shopping, museums (DIA Beacon), great restaurants and coffee shops, and even our own music venues! There is also incredible hiking in the area, including Mount Beacon & Breakneck Ridge. Chapel of the Sacred Mirrors (COSM) is 15 minutes as well. We are also only 30 minutes from Storm King Arts Center.
It is quiet with lovely geese honking, birds chirping, crickets in the summer nights chirping. Walking distance from main street Beacon and now 2 bikes available onsite for rental for $10 per day or $15 for the whole weekend if you need.
A wonderful bathroom with a jet bath tub and a lovely shower with 2 shower heads, 1 rain shower.
Some kitchen use available with the possibility of trying some of my specialty herbal tea concoctions.
A cozy wood stove warmed living room with a beautiful view of Mt. Beacon.
A large tree filled yard with places to sit and picnic, hammock.
The petting of my cats if it comes to that. :)
I'm quite busy and have a private practice as well. I love to interact with my guests as I'm available and as they wish. It is important to me to have good vibes in my home, please come with your good vibes on high. :)
My home is a work in progress. I bought it 2 years ago, lots of foundational renovations have been done and now the inner workings are slowly being renovated. There are quirks about the house due to this but it is funky, warm, full of healing energy and it's getting better and better all the time.
I'm also an herbalist and have herbs and herbal concoctions everywhere.
No smoking if a smoker, only outside the house.
I have 2 cats so no pets are allowed.
Please remove shoes in the house. You might want to bring slippers.
I'm a dance therapist, ritual dance facilitator and am passionate about the healing arts. I'm also studying herbalism and shamanism. I love community building, dance, nature, my cats, family, and friends. My home has been a healing oasis for me and I hope it can be that for others too. It's a loving work in progress so enjoy the process.
