1/2 mile from Quail Lodge off Carmel Valley Road. Private room for 2 (for extra people, see notes) surrounded by nature and hills on a 5-acre gentleman’s ranch -- wifi, fridge, and coffee maker. Includes comfy queen bed and desk. A short drive to the beach, Carmel, Big Sur, and Pebble Beach.
Come and enjoy this spacious multi-acre retreat. Clean, quiet, private room with comfy queen bed, desk, small refrigerator, and nature views. Plenty of safe parking and wifi are provided. There is a Keurig coffee maker with plenty of coffee-tea-hot chocolate.
Please note, for 2-person reservations, only the single queen bed and bath are available. Even though the listing may say 3 beds, extra lower-level beds and space are only available for reservations of 3 or more.
Extra-People-Beds-Space - Subject to Availability
The Comfy Bed room does not really have enough floor space to bring in an extra bed for a third or fourth person.
We do have a lower-level expansion area (on our lower level) that can be used to provide more beds and space. Our expansion area consists of a separate bedroom (1 queen bed + 1 single bed) and a common area with a 50” TV and a large sofa. The sofa also turns into a bed, but the other beds are more comfy.
The extra space is not always available if we have guests of our own or if other Airbnb guests have it reserved. Because Airbnb doesn’t provide the ability to publish variable occupancy capacity it may not be available when you send an inquiry. The only way to to know if it is available is to request room for an additional 3rd or 4th person when you send an inquiry or reservation request. It is possible, in certain situations, to accommodate more than 4 people but this is, again, only on a case-by-case basis based on availability.
Now that the kids are out of the house we rattle around with bedrooms to spare and we'd like to share all this space with you while you enjoy this little piece of heaven we get to call home. We do enjoy our animals, which include a small mixed breed dachshund, a chinchilla, and five cats who roam the property outside, but not inside.
Note this is a country setting, and on occasion the local wildlife may provide some added ambiance to your stay, including frogs croaking and owls hooting during the night.
Typically we will be home, but if there is a need a key will be provided to come and go.
We are here to greet you and send you on your way at the end of your visit. The available bedroom space is on the opposite end of the house from the main living space and therefore you can expect limited interaction with us. There is one additional bedroom on this end of the house available for airbnb guests so there may be a chance of seeing them.
Packaged snacks and a coffee maker are provided for your convenience.
Since we do have animals it is important that if you do have pet-related allergies that you take this into consideration. The dogs do spend time in the house but the cats are primarily outside or in their special space in the garage.
Guests may check in after 5:00pm and should plan to check out by 10:00am unless alternative arrangements are made. If you need an earlier check in time, please share this detail when you make your reservation.
Guests are asked to keep noise to a minimum after 10:00pm.
No Extensive Meals or Cooking in Rooms - we do not encourage meals to be eaten in rooms and do not allow cooking of any kind — that includes boiling water or making soup. Fruit or light snack/take out food may be okay. There is no access to kitchen facilities, microwave or utensils.
Pets may be allowed, but not without advance permission. An additional $20 pet fee will be collected at the time of check-in.
Access to the kitchen and other portions of the house are not included.

My husband and I live in Carmel Valley with our various pets and the wild critters that enjoy our country setting close to both Carmel-by-the-Sea and the quaint Carmel Valley Village. My husband and I are both consultants and are blessed to be able to work from home offices. We enjoy cooking, hiking, gardening and meeting new people.
