Starting April 1, quarantine for domestic travel to New York will no longer be required. Mandatory quarantine will remain for international travelers.

New York eased travel restrictions for vaccinated visitors, allowing them to skip the state's quarantine and testing requirements.
The new rule, which applies to domestic travel only, will waive all quarantine and testing protocols for those who have been fully vaccinated within 90 days of their trip, the state's Gov. Andrew Cuomo said during a news conference on Wednesday, March 3rd.

NYS COVID-19 TRAVEL ADVISORY

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has announced new guidelines allowing travelers to New York to “test out” of the mandatory 14-day quarantine. Travelers from states that are contiguous with New York are exempt from the travel advisory; however covered travelers must continue to fill out the Traveler Health Form. Essential workers will continue to be exempt as well. The guidance also applies to international travelers coming from any CDC Level 2 or Level 3 Health Notice country. The new protocol is effective Wednesday, November 4.

For any traveler to New York State from a noncontiguous state, US territory or CDC level 2 or level 3 country, the new guidelines for travelers to test-out of the mandatory 14-day quarantine are below:
・For travelers who were out-of-state for more than 24 hours:
・Travelers must obtain a test within three days of departure, prior to arrival in New York.
・The traveler must, upon arrival in New York, quarantine for three days.
・On day 4 of their quarantine, the traveler must obtain another COVID test. If both tests comes back negative, the traveler may exit quarantine early upon receipt of the second negative diagnostic test.

*My apartments are shared apartments and can't be used for self-quarantine. Please book a hotel for the first few days following the arrival date and reserve my listing after the self-quarantine period.

Bedroom does not have a lock due to New York regulations.
Instead, a chain lock or slide lock is installed inside the door so you can lock it when you are in the bedroom.
On the other hand, valuables can be stored in the closet which has a lock.

Now, before you say anything, give us a chance to reintroduce Harlem to you! While Harlem used to be known as a very “ghetto” place BUT it’s changed now. Nowadays, Central Harlem is drawing fans from all over the world.

The neighborhood ranges from the north end of Central Park at 110th Street to the Harlem River, and from 5th to St. Nicholas Avenues. The neighborhood actually possess a rich historical background accompanied by wonderful architecture. In fact, many famous people are associated with Central Harlem like the Queen of Soul- Aretha Franklin, Maya Angelou, and James Brown (look up the Apollo theater and you will know what we mean ;)

When it comes to restaurants, you cannot go wrong with Belle Harlem. Our recommendation are the Grilled Short Loin Lamb Chop Meyer lemon with mint Gremolata. The Australian Wagyu Filet Mignon with Ginger sweet Potato Purée is also super delicious! If you are in the mood for ethnic food, try Benyam Cuisine – a famous Ethiopian restaurant. The food here is cooked with delicious mild yet tasty spices. Don’t hesitate to ask for some mitmita (the restaurant’s signature spice) for a more flavorful dish!

Harlem is a bustling and modern neighborhood, great for a convenient and authentic NYC experience! It is perhaps New York City’s most vibrant and historic neighborhood.
