My husband and I live in this old sea captain's house on 2 acres at the water's edge. Please thoroughly read our Rooms for 8 listing to ensure you have a full understanding of guest accommodations. The Tuck-away, at the top of a secondary staircase, has easy access to the first floor lav, outside shower, and includes use of the 2nd-floor bath, well-equipped kitchen, and public rooms of our Greek Revival home built in 1873, on an island accessible only by ferry.

Our home, one of the Stone Sloop Captains' houses built in the mid 1800s, is situated on a lovely 2 acre property at the water's edge and accommodates 8 in 5 rooms on the second floor: Garden View $75-1 twin bed; Walter's Comfy Room $150-1 king or 2 twin beds and chaise; Captain's Room $125-full bed and love seat; J's Cozy Room/full bed $75 for 1, $100 for 2; & C's Tuck-away Room/twin-$63.

The house is walking distance of the CTC Ferry, Stone Wharf, beach, museum, library, store and restaurants. Our property is smoke free, inside and out, but feel free to bring along your favorite beverage to sip while you sit on the back bank and watch the birds and boats or just relax in the hammock. There are flowers and trees, and a cat that lives in the owner's quarters.

We have beds for a total of 8 guests in 5 rooms (3 two person rooms and 2 one person rooms) on the second floor of the original sea captain's house. Two two-person rooms and 1 one-person room have total privacy. The other two rooms, adjacent to the Captain's Room, are "pullman" style, similar to a train in that you must walk through one room to get to the next. This is perfect for a family or close friends. The first two rooms have full size beds. The third room has a twin size bed and access to the secondary staircase to the first floor. All beds in our home have memory foam toppers, plush mattress pads and at least 400 count cotton sheets.

The rooms, on the original second floor, share a bathroom centrally located at the top of the main staircase. The outside shower (available April - October), private and constructed with blue stone, and a first floor lav are also available to guests to help streamline readying for scheduled events.

One can find many things to do on Chebeague Island: reading a book, taking a nap, painting, walking the roads or wooded paths, biking, sailing, climbing the rocks at Deer Point, walking the sandbar to Little Chebeague at low tide, bird watching, fishing, soaking up the sun or taking a dip in Casco Bay, collecting sea glass, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, visiting the Museum, Library and Doughty's Island Market. May through October, Ebb and Thyme, the Chebeague Island Inn, Slow Bell and The Niblic offer delicious foods.
