The two bedroom suite in our Victorian country house in the Brecon Beacons National Park, on the edge of Abergavenny and the Black mountains is the perfect getaway - easy to reach and with masses to do and see on our doorstep.
Victorian country house and lovely gardens on the outskirts of Abergavenny and inside the Brecon Beacons National Park. Previously awarded 5 stars by Visit Wales for for self-catering holiday lets. Brooklands is now our family home, but we are still happy to welcome guests eager to explore this wonderful area.
Lovely gardens, millstream, brooks and the River Gavenny on our eastern border. Lawns to front and rear, garden games, pétanque court, swings, woodland walkway with bridges over the stream and brooks, garden benches, chairs and tables, plenty of space to explore, play or relax. Patios with tables and chairs.
Welcoming hallway with wood-burner, seating areas and games/puzzle table, games and puzzles, dining room with open fire and, selection of OS maps and walking and cycling guides, reading corner with books. By arrangement: access to laundry room with washer and dryer. Wi-Fi. Lockable bike shed.
First floor: 1 king-size room, 1 twin room with 2 single beds, large shower room, all with high quality linens and towels. By arrangement: access to bath.
Brooklands is on the very edge of Abergavenny, with all the convenience of a short drive or bracing walk to town to explore, combined with the magic of dark skies in the garden to enjoy the stars.

Our guest suite comprises a king bedroom and a twin bedroom sharing a large shower-room. You'll have plenty of storage space! Enjoy the gardens, relax by the fire after a busy day walking or sight-seeing.
We're happy to help from the moment you enquire about Brooklands and throughout your stay. Any questions at all, please ask! We don't want to invade your privacy during your stay, but we will be on hand throughout.
Abergavenny hosts a renowned Food Festival in September. Not far away are the Crickhowell Walking Festival in March, the Hay Festival in May, the Green Man Festival and the Brecon Jazz Festival in August.
The Brecon Beacons National Park is famous for its unspoilt and varied landscape and we are proud of its status as an International Dark Sky Reserve. It is a wonderful place for walkers and cyclists. Lakes and rivers offer water-sports and fishing opportunities. History buffs will appreciate the chance to explore Neolithic standing stones, Iron Age hill forts, Roman ruins, Norman churches and castles and the beginnings of the Industrial Age at a World Heritage Site. The National Park is also home to Fforest Fawr, Wales' first European Geopark.
Explore the Welsh Marches, Offa's Dyke and the Wye Valley, the borderlands between England and Wales. Wonderful walking and beautiful scenery forming the backdrop to stunning ruins such as Tintern Abbey, perfect for a day out with friends and family.
Walk or cycle along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, stopping at a country pub for lunch along the way.
Visit the market town of Brecon, with its market, craft shops, the canal and Rivers Usk and Honddu or Hay-on-Wye, famous for its bookshops. Hereford Cathedral still houses the Mappa Mundi.
Explore the Black Mountains, Capel-y-Ffin, one of the smallest chapels in Wales. Discover Llanthony Priory, drawn and painted by Turner.
Horseriding, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, walking, cycling, golfing, climbing and fishing are just some of the activities on offer!

We have restored our dream home but we can't quite make the move permanent yet, so when we aren't visiting ourselves, we make it available for others to enjoy. We hope they will appreciate the love and attention to detail that has gone into Brooklands.
