AOCA KAMINOGE is a holiday flat conceived as a 24-hour art museum—a place not only to view art, but to live within it. Designed for guests seeking cultural depth, the space invites quiet reflection at any hour.

The works on display are by contemporary artist Rostarr, known for abstract painting and calligraphy that explore freedom within structure. Active since the 1990s, Rostarr has collaborated with DIESEL and NIKE, and participated in the globally acclaimed Beautiful Losers exhibition.

Completed in February 2018, this five-story newly built residence offers 26.43㎡（284.5 ft²） of thoughtfully designed space—compact yet open, with a strong sense of balance and breathing room.

The interior is furnished with JOURNAL STANDARD FURNITURE, featuring a curated selection of furniture, objects, and textiles. Filtered through the brand’s distinct aesthetic, the space blends effortlessly into daily life while quietly stimulating the senses.

Location

Located in the Kaminoge area of Setagaya, this quiet residential neighborhood centers around Kaminoge Station, designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando. The surrounding areas of Todoroki, Futakotamagawa, and Yoga are easily accessible, with major roads and bus routes providing smooth connections throughout the city.

While offering excellent access to shopping districts such as Futakotamagawa and Jiyugaoka, as well as central Shibuya, the area has developed with a strong cultural presence, home to institutions like the Gotoh Museum of Art and Tama Art University.

Nature

The nearby Tama River offers a peaceful riverside landscape that changes with the seasons. The Nogawa and Maruko River areas, along with the Kokubunji Escarpment, are among Setagaya’s most well-preserved natural environments. The Noge Otsuka Kofun in Tamagawa Nogemachi Park stands as a quiet reminder of the area’s long history of life by the water.
