This special house was built for my family as well as to share with others. It was designed it to have a classic timeless appeal with charming wood work details, wide plank pine wood floors and comfortable but not tired furniture. The gourmet kitchen, great room and master bedroom are on the 2nd floor with 3 bedrooms and the garage and laundry on the first floor. As I love to cook the kitchen is fully equipped and works well for several cooks at the same time with a nice island and 4 chairs there as well as the dining table and game table.
The property is wonderful in the summer as well as winter. Outside spaces include a spacious deck with bar b que, large hot tub, table and chairs a sprawling lawn area which wraps around the house, ping pong table, hammock, various seating areas outside which we have carved between the trees. As the property backs up to the national forest and I own the lot next door which is bordered by homeowners open space there is a very natural and private feel to the outside spaces.
As the master is on the 2nd floor this house also works well for a couple as well as a larger group. Bathrooms have playful custom tiles, we have a large game and book collection as well as dvd's and CD's. and speakers throughout the living and master bedroom.
Master Bedroom, queen bed
2nd Bedroom queen bed
3rd bedroom two sets of large built in bunk beds
4th bedroom twin bed with trundle pull out
Living room, queen sofa sleeper.
Great location between Northstar and the Lake, two level blocks off Hwy 267. Most central location to all Tahoe ski resorts... 10 minutes to Northstar, 20 to Truckee, 25 to Squaw and Alpine. 15 to Diamond Peak, 20 to Mt. Rose. 60 mins to South Shore. In the summers we like to spend time in the North Tahoe Regional Park. There is a asphalt bike path through the woods behind the house which leads to the Park where there arae 5 tennis courts, many hiking and biking trails, picnic areas throughout the woods, bar b que facilities, Frisbee golf and a para-course among other activities. In the winter one can cross country ski out the back door and pick up the path into the developed cross country ski area which also features a sledding hill with daily sled rentals or a small fee to bring your own.
In summer great beach access at Kings Beach which is just at the bottom of Hwy 267.
Lots of wonderful restaurants and activities year round in Lake Tahoe. Driving times are 20 minutes from Truckee, 2 minutes from Kings Beach, 14 from Tahoe City, 10 from Incline.
Check my messages frequently throughout the day with the goal of responding quickly to inquiries. Feel free to ask for restaurant recommendations etc. When staying at the property either I or one of my long time helpers will be available to solve anything that might come up. Additionally we have lists of people to contact for repairs and extensive house information. Sometimes I am at one or the other of my Tahoe rentals. MY RENTERS ARE MY EYES WHEN THEY ARE STAYING IN TAHOE. SUMMER IS VERY BUSY FOR THE CLEANING CREW WITH MOSTLY BACK TO BACK RENTALS. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM OR YOU FEEL THAT THE CLEANING SERVICE MISSED SOMETHING PLEASE RATHER THAN MENTION IT IN A REVIEW INFORM US SO WE CAN CORRECT THE PROBLEM, VERIFY THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. RECENTLY A GUEST NOTICED DISCOLORATION INDICATING A WATER LEAK IN A CEILING BUT RATHER THAN INFORM ME POSTED IT IN A REVIEW THAT I DID NOT SEE FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS FROM THE TIME THEY FIRST NOTICED IT. IN THE INTERIM THE SMALL DISHWASHER LEAK BECAME A HUGE PROBLEM. SO, AGAIN, LET ME KNOW IMMEDIATELY WHILE YOU ARE IN THE HOUSE IF THERE IS A PROBLEM.
Mandatory 10% occupancy tax which I collect and turn in to Placer County. This tax must be paid prior to arrival in the form of a check if there is time for it to clear, a bank transfer or cashier's check. If you cancel under the Air bnb policy I will refund these funds.
This is a great house. I have a number of good reviews at another web site and a history of 20 years of renting property I own in Lake Tahoe. This is my first AirBNB listing so I have no ratings here but would be happy to provide my other web site. Prices are seasonal, the summer/fall price is currently listed and is a minimum with some holiday periods higher. Minimum stay summer 7 nights, Fall/Spring 3, Please feel free to inquire on shorter stays if we have the space open the week prior.
No Pets, No smoking, preferred maximum group size 10 people including all children. Additional people may be permitted by prior agreement, no more than 12. Excess guests will result in loss of security deposit. No large party groups, no weddings, filming, movies, commercial use, parties that do not include those covered in the contract.
I love this house but built it to share with others that want to enjoy a week or 4 days with friends in Tahoe, cooking, reading, playing in the snow or hiking. It is NOT a party house as parties cause problems and things can get out of control. We do not rent to big unruly parties so if you think that you will not have control of your group please find another rental. I have rented for 20 years to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) guests and had only one unfortunate experience.
We do have a checkout checklist and guests area expected to leave the house picked up and in a condition where the house cleaner can clean in 5 hours. If linens or furniture are moved they need to be returned to where they were when guests arrived. Housecleaning includes up to a maximum of 5 hours. Any additional hours will be charged.
The Jacuzzi is great but it is a single body of water and not attached to a swimming pool so if the water gets body oils, lotions, food in it or it becomes the focus of your holiday party the water will get dirty quickly. So that you can enjoy the Jacuzzi for your entire stay please have everyone shower off prior to entry and do not eat in the Jacuzzi. If the water becomes dirty please call the spa people and me. If there is a dump and scrub needed and the water has recently been changed you will be charged an extra $120. We always have the hot tub serviced immediately prior to arrival.

Sharing spaces that I have designed is both a business and a passion with this year marking my 20th season in Lake Tahoe. Over the years many rental clients have become good friends and return each year to the same property. Being the host to these return guests is the most rewarding part of my vacation and short term rental work. .
After spending my adult years raising my family on a sheep farmlett in Sebastopol California with summer and weekend visits to Lake Tahoe, got the travel bug and found an opportunity for change so change happened.
Buenos Aires is where I now spend about half of my time, por razon de tango (because of tango) but also because it is a fun and with the internet my work can happen wherever I am in the world. Argentina is a random place where strange things always happen. I have met wonderful, interesting international people who come annually to Argentina to immerse themselves in the tango culture. My life here is a combination of a Danielle Steele romance novel and a Woody Allen Movie. Taking notes, there is a book in here somewhere.
I have always loved dancing and for the last 10 years it has been a huge part of my life. Now that my children are super responsible adults, it has been possible to pursue it on a more intense level. Ever since I went to college in Spain, living in a Spanish speaking country had always been my desire. I was invited to Buenos Aires in January 2009 to help teach Lindy Hop, specifically Balboa, at an International Lindy Hop Festival. Went tango dancing one night to Club Gricel and got completely hooked during one tanda de Calo, a composer of romantic tangos. A tanda is a group of 3-4 songs with some type of commonality that you dance with one partner. Tango either speaks to you or it does not, hard to explain but what the locals dance is not the show tango that people usually think of, it is a more personal and intimate experience.
It has been exciting and never boring living a gypsy lifestyle, being able to travel to cities with varied dance communities, always running into friends from my dance world, managing the rentals all day and tango dancing all night, literally. Sleep sometimes suffers a bit. My favorite places to visit (and dance) so far have been Istanbul, Cosquin in Argentna for the annual Folklore festival, Rome, and Paris. Culturally Turkey was the most amazing trip. My motto has always been "Press On" but at this very moment staying home is sounding like a fun thing!
Asides from dancing (swing, salsa, tango, folklore, pretty much everything) I also love to cook so every kitchen is fully equipped. Hiking, skiing, decorating, design work and music are also my passions. Read a lot more before tango but still find some time to read. Suggestions are welcome!
Just rented my first property on Air bnb and it was a great experience, cute beach apartment in Venice California. This inspired me to list on this site.
In order to keep things running smoothly and also to enjoy all that Northern California has to offer I come back several times a year. When in the California I go through each San Francisco flat and Tahoe house make sure that all is in order and in good repair. To to be able to offer to visitors to Lake Tahoe and San Francisco lovely spaces where they can enjoy their valuable vacation or time away from home for a project is a pleasure.
