Private room in our 175 year old farm house in the historic Village of Gagetown, NB.
We run a small sustainable farm with goats, chickens, rabbits & ducks. We operate our home as a travelers' hostel, so we're used to having people in & out. :)
Our hostel is located on a 2 acre sustainable farm in the historic Village of Gagetown. It is an old farmhouse that we're in the process of updating and modernizing but parts of the house are still very old. Everything is clean but much of the decor is still very dated (we'll call it "old-world charm"). There are 3 rooms in the house that we rent out, and we also live in the house. All spaces are shared (other than your private bedroom).
The Village itself sits on the Saint John River which creates a plethora of outdoor activities. Check out the hostel website at (URL HIDDEN)
Our property provides a laid back country atmosphere for those looking for a peaceful getaway.
Guests have access to everything! Kitchen, 2 full bathrooms (no bathtub available though), living room, dining room, outdoor eating areas in the summer (screened in front porch), fire pit, BBQ, etc. We also have wifi and, most importantly, GOATS! Who could resist!
We interact with guests as much or as little as they would like, and depending on our schedule. We are used to having people around and are generally pretty good at gauging these types of things.
We do have a hypo-allergenic dog named "Beans" on the property. She's very friendly and loves other animals!
Our property has an old hand dug well (for water) which is used for showering, cleaning, etc. Water for drinking is provide for you in your room, and also in the kitchen for tea, coffee, cooking, etc.
Special Note: This is an operational farm all year round. We sometimes have projects on the go, and we do our best to keep them contained while we have guests. That said, they sometimes overflow into areas of the house/hostel and yard.
Our space is your space so make yourselves at home but please keep the following in mind:
- you provide your own food
- you do your own dishes
- please keep personal belongings in your room
- please respect that this is also our home
- have a great time!
Also, we are a HOSTEL, not a B&B. But we always do our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible!!

My husband Sean and I strive to live a sustainable, balanced life! We are small scale organic farmers (Sean fulltime, and myself part-time), and I am also a natural medicine practitioner in Fredericton during the week.
We love to travel when time and budget permit, and enjoy hosting the rest of the year. We operate our home as a traveler's hostel all year-round. This allows us to pay forward the safe and interesting travel opportunities that others have offered us in the past, while allowing the world to come to us when we can't go to the world.
