Our 3 BR ranch style house is on 6 acres of land, with big oak trees, a pond view and a big front porch with a swing. Our house is on a quiet loop road, great for a run, ride or walk. We're semi-close to a RR track and 5 minutes from I-26, exit 97.
We've hosted many workers for VC Summer and that works well for us. We are in the process of an adoption that could happen at anytime, so we prefer shorter commitments, 2 weeks or less, but we are always open to a conversation about your stay/needs.
Welcome! Your room comes with a new and comfortable queen bed with thick memory foam, a view of our beautiful land, lamp and nightstand, a ceiling fan and a walk-in closet with some space to hang up your things.
Your private bathroom is right next door and is filled with soft light from a sky light. We will provide towels and shower items like soap, shampoo and conditioner etc. It has a shower, tub and a medicine cabinet to store your items.
Come and sit on the porch swing and enjoy the quiet and the view of ducks quacking playfully in the pond as the wind rustles the trees and wind chimes.
There are two sides or sections of the house, each with their own living rooms. The side with your bedroom closes off from the kitchen with french doors for your privacy.
There is plenty of space to park your car, camper, etc in our loop driveway. There is no public transportation near by.
Please let us know if you need coffee (french press) in the morning or help yourself to our selection of organic teas.
What is yours:
a front porch swing, and multiple tree swings you're welcome to try :)
a quiet atmosphere to de-stress and relax and rest well.
a 5 min ride to the Interstate 26 and 15 minutes to Harbison Blvd with shopping and dining options, 25 minutes to downtown Columbia. The wifi password is on the chalkboard in the kitchen.
If you need something, please let us know.
We always try our best to be home when you arrive. We are busy people, and on the weekends we like to be home and have friends over most Friday nights. We use airbnb when we travel, and we know how great it is to have a local's insight into the area. We're here to help make your visit to Columbia as great as possible! We usually give our guests lots of space and privacy but check in once or twice to make sure your needs are being met.
We love hosting and have hosted over a hundred people and have 70 positive reviews from our old house. We moved to our new home here in White Rock/Chapin in December 2013.
If you're allergic to cats, this might not be the best stay for you, but we do not have any carpet in the house, and we vacuum frequently, so those who have stayed with us with allergies have not expressed any issues.
We will do our best to be home when you arrive although it is not always possible. We will give you instructions about the keyless entry in case we're not available. Please message us on Airbnb with any questions. We have 3 cats, the white one (Jessie) and the black one (Kevin) and Prince (orange long hair munchkin) are indoor/outdoor cats. Jessie is not very friendly. Kevin is friendly but skiddish with loud noises or voices. Prince is shy but warms up to cat people and is a purrbox. Please respect our property and animals but not causing any harm or damage and being clean.
Please no smoking in or near the house. We've had problems in the past with ashes left in the trashcan and strong lingering smells because of that. Thank you!
Let us know if you need anything, and if you need coffee or tea. We only have a french press, so let us know if you need assistance with how to use it or the electric kettle. You can just put your used dishes in the dishwasher if there is room.
Please treat everything and everyone with respect while you are with us, and if you need anything, please ask. Make yourself at home!

We are welcoming to all people :) . My husband, Daniel is a youth director at our church. He teaches the Bible and plays lots of sports with the students. I, Corrie, am an ESL teacher with VIPKID, (referral code=02D02E). We were English teachers in a small village outside of Beijing for a year in 2011. We are well traveled and love to show hospitality to travelers and passersby. We also love to travel with airbnb and stay in unique and friendly places. We are in the process of adoption, and are saving money on our vacation this summer by traveling on a road trip to ME in the camper Daniel built on the back of our Tacoma. #theTaHoma We are both very laid back, love being with families, can't live without good coffee, healthy snacks, good music and Harry Potter audiobooks for our road trip.
