The property is on 3 1/2 acres on the outskirts of Gloucester within five minutes drive to the town centre. There are expansive vistas of mountain ranges which include the famous Bucketts and Mograni ranges on either side of the Avon Valley where the house is situated.

There is an extensive range of activities available in the area. Alternatively, the place is so peaceful and the views so beautiful that unwinding quietly with a book can be an attractive option.

The space
‘Farthings Bed and Breakfast’ is a traditional bed and breakfast establishment within the true meaning of the term. Hosts Penny and Chris are on hand to help guests fully enjoy their visit. Guests at Farthings have the options of:

• quietly unwinding in comfortable surroundings while enjoying the beautiful views and the peaceful countryside;
• making full use of the many activities that the area has to offer.
The accommodation is a purpose designed self-contained two bedroom flat connected to but separate from the main house. It is suitable for a party of up to four guests with a Queen size bed in one room, two King size singles in the second bedroom.

Amenities include:

• an integrated living/dining- room with food preparation area;
• fridge;
• microwave;
• sandwich toaster;
• Nespresso machine;
• plates, glasses, cutlery etc
• food preparation equipment;
• electric barbecue;
• TV with Google Chrome giving access to your membership of Netflix;
• CD Player;
• selection of DVD’s;
• board and card games;
• mahjong;
• selection of books;
• a telescope for stargazing;
• free unlimited Wi-fi.
Additional features:
• large 'three-way' bathroom, with a walk-in shower and spacious bathtub;
• all main rooms have ceiling fans;
• the living-room has gas heating;
• an outdoor area with table and chairs exclusive to guests;

Children
Children over the age of five years are welcome. Thee place is not suitable for younger children because of nearby water, barbed wire fences and other rural features.
Dogs

Small house-trained dogs are welcome but please not on the furniture or beds.


Charges
Our quoted charge of $120.00 per night is for two guests in one bedroom. There will be an additional charge of $60 for each additional adult guest and $50.00 for children under sixteen years, up to a maximum of four guests in the same party. A cleaning fee of $20.00 per applies, irrespective of length of stay. We only accept one party at a time. There is no minimum stay.
Breakfast

Breakfast is provided within the charge. It includes fruit, juice, cereals, muesli, breads for toasting, spreads, home-made jams, yoghurt and milk.
The Surrounding Area

The property is situated within the picturesque Avon Valley with East to West panoramic views down the wide valley. The World Heritage-listed Barrington Tops, Woko National Park and Copeland State Conservation area are all within easy reach.

We are about five minutes’ drive from the attractive little market town of Gloucester. Of possible interest in Gloucester are:
• several cafes, Thai restaurant, two supermarkets, two pubs, two recreational clubs with Chinese restaurants;
• children’s playground;
• gift shops;
• a vibrant Visitors' Information Centre run by knowledgeable locals anxious to help visitors enjoy their time in Gloucester.

The surrounding area offers many opportunities for both outdoor and indoor activities including:
• picturesque golf course and clubhouse where visitors are welcome;
• hiking;

As such, there are limited kitchen facilities with a microwave, toaster, sandwich press, electric barbecue, tea and coffee making equipment. There is NO kitchen sink or cooking stove in the guest accommodation. We put our guests' dirty crockery and utensils through our dishwasher daily and replace them when the guests are out and about.
We are only 5 km from the charming town of Gloucester, where there are several cafes, clubs with restaurants and two pubs with bistros.

My husband and I have both retired. During our working lives we lived mostly in cities and for over 30 years called Sydney 'home'. We moved to the country upon retirement and chose Barrington and the Gloucester area because of its character, picturesqueness, the friendliness of the population and all the available amenities. We both enjoy the rural lifestyle, our garden, our dog, our hens and the clean country air. Both Chris and I have traveled extensively. We were both born in UK and between us have lived in UK, Africa, South East Asia and the Pacific Islands. I enjoy travelling, reading, movies, theatre, music, meeting new people, good food and most of all, my family. Chris has similar interests but really enjoys gardening and keeping the property neat and tidy. Chris speaks French reasonably well. We look forward to hosting and getting to know a wide range of Airbnb guests.
