Private, tranquil and spacious studio-style apartment located in a Tuscan-style tower in Brooklyn. Overlooking native bush, yet only 5 minutes from the bars and restaurants of Cuba Street (about $8 by Uber), and a further 10 minutes stroll to Courtenay Place, Te Papa, or the waterfront. 20 minutes from the airport.

Perfect if you want a quiet space where you can relax and unwind, would prefer not to share someone elses home, yet want something funkier than a bland motel or hotel room.

A Fabulous place to stay which is about a 5 min uber drive into the city. A Beautiful walk through the park which takes about 30mins to get to town. Not even 10min walk into Brooklyn local village where you can enjoy some awesome restaurants or see a movie. Spoilt with delicious …

Great place to stay. Has the tranquility of rural estate 10 away from the CBD! Spacious and relaxing. Friendly and helpful hosts.

This location is great, 10 min drive to town. However, the property is listed as an entire space but shares an entrance and the toilet with the owners office (middle floor) with the bedroom in the basement. While it’s the owners plans to change this, as it is, there is no privacy…

Clearly I could have done a better job of managing Mick's expectations seeing we didn't have any interior photographs at the time of his enquiry ...even though I told him before he booked that the level which houses the bathroom wasn't yet finished. However, his review is so misleading and factually inaccurate, that I need respond. I can't adequately address the points in Mick's review in one short paragraph, but I'll try to be as succinct as possible. :) As I write this (March 2018), our studio apartment is a brand new space that we have just converted (from my photography studio) to Airbnb accommodation. (Please see our photographs). We told Mick when he enquired about booking, that while the main studio area was finished, a separate bathroom (which shares the floor above with my office), was not yet finished, and they would have to use the shower in our house. I should add that we also set a reduced rate that reflected this. Here's what I told Mick when he enquired about booking: "We'd love to have you, but unfortunately we've been waiting on our plumber to install the shower. (We have been converting my photo-studio next to our house to Airbnb over the past couple of months). HOWEVER, having said that, the main living/sleeping area is good to go, and there is a toilet and hand-basin, and you'd be most welcome to use the shower in our house, which is right next door to the tower where the studio apartment is, so it shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience. (It's about 8 metres walk.)" I asked Mick to get back to me with any questions or concerns he might have, but he went ahead and booked with no further communication. Reading his review, I suspect that he didn't actually read any the above. Having booked in the full knowledge of the above facts, and knowing it was only a temporary situation, it's rather churlish for Mick to then complain that "there is no privacy". The fact is, the main studio living & sleeping area and the deck are TOTALLY private, and I stand by my description to Mick that there are great bush views. (And of course by the time you read this, the bathroom will be finished, and totally private :) There are more falsehoods in Mick's review worth noting: He said: "The listing suggested that it was in a tower with views but, disappointingly it was far from it." ...Yes, certainly our listing features a picture of our Tuscan-style tower that houses the studio apartment space. I'm not sure what Mick was expecting for the price, but we did not intend this to imply that the apartment occupied all 5 levels! I accept that had we had photos of the studio area and deck at the time Mick made his booking we could possibly have avoided any unrealistic expectations on his part. "The space is in the basement." Quite wrong, Mick. There IS a basement, however ...which is beneath the studio apartment. "...and offers a small private balcony outside amongst the greenery." Ok, to be fair, Mick IS right about it being private, but at 6 mtrs x over 2 mtrs, it's more accurate to call it a deck than a small balcony. I also need to point out that on their arrival I again apologised for having to use the shower in our house, and explaining that the floor above the studio living/sleeping area and deck is for the moment a shared area, but my office would in future be totally separated from the bathroom facilities. It's a shame the reviewer appears to have had a chip on his shoulder despite our being totally transparent from the outset, and didn't express his dissatisfaction to me at the time. If you are considering staying, please judge the place by the photographs and positive reviews, and not by this one misleading and inaccurate review. I can promise you that the place is - as described - tranquil, private, totally relaxing ...and only 5 minutes to town by car! (Maybe Mick lost his way, seeing it apparently took him twice as long!)
