we were sorry (though not surprised) to hear that hammed was disappointed with his stay with us. when he booked a couple hours before arriving, it seems he was hoping for a by-the-hour motel for a mysterious “photo shoot.” before arriving, hammed pressed us for a discount since he didn’t plan to stay the night, then tried to arrive without confirming his booking, and then left in a hurry leaving the keys outside. when he asked again for a discount, vaguely citing some “emergency” (although he’d already indicated he did not plan to stay the night), we declined, given that we still had to put the furniture back, clean the place, change the bed, as well as clean up an abnormal amount of hair (what kind of photo shoot was it?). so now hammed has chosen to vent his disappointment about through airbnb’s ever-democratic review system. for hammed’s next trip to toronto, we’d recommend the waverley hotel, well-known for their hourly rates and disinterested desk service.
we do our best to go the extra mile and offer our guests friendly welcome and an affordable stay in one of toronto’s most beloved neighbourhoods. we even try to accommodate people who book last-minute when we can. and hey, it’s not even our business whether you’re bringing your own husband or someone else’s—it’s the 21st century. we’re still going to do the laundry and clean the place after you go, and host you with the same respect we hope to get in return.
