First and foremost, I want to say that it tears my heart to say that in this business no matter how hard we try, we simply just cannot make everybody happy and this is a real life example of a guest that stayed at my unit with the intentions of seeking a free stay from the beginning. I have hosted over 500 guests ( I have 12 active short term rental properties in Scottsdale market) with such great spirits and positive energy, but yet Tammy is the first time I have to say that I am extremely let down by a guest and their intent.
From checkin, I sent Tammy a text to inform her that the condo was available and to enjoy the complimentary bottle of wine in the unit( I had a same day checkout and then Tammy checking in, so I was doing anything in my power to accomdate an early check in for Tammy, as if the maids finished cleaning before 3 pm, I was going to let her checkin the moment it was ready). The moment Tammy arrived at my Scottsdale Retreat condo, she started complaining and picking the place for unusual complaints that I have never heard before from any of my 100 prior guests at this unit.. something was not adding up.
We found out the previous guest that checked out the SAME DAY had cracked the downstairs bedroom ( master bedroom) window and unfortunately the replacement glass was not going to be ready for 48 hours, so I informed Tammy from her arrival that the issue we had being handled and we were sorry about it.
When Tammy mentioned to me that the AC was not running properly I checked the Nest thermostat and she had it down to 55 degrees ( I have a copy of the temperature ) and I was absolutely flabbergasted. We sent out the HVAC Technican to diagnose what caused the issue, and he said "it was from the guests running the unit at such a low temperature that it caused the unit to freeze". So in theory, he reiterated that Tammy's negligence caused the unit to freeze. So not only did I have an extremly high electric bill, PLUS air conditioning service bill that I paid out of pocket, but her action of turning down the AC so low and running it caused the problem.
As far as all other items addressed in the review, I think that it would be wise to use best judgement based off my prior 215 reviews...Tammy was seeking to get a free stay, and it is sad because we really do go above and beyond to try and ensure our guests have the best possible stay. However, I would not wish Tammy on anybody.
