A few things to note on this review, because I find it misleading and disingenuous in some areas:
Check-in: while it is not ideal that a guest have to pick up the keys from a different location (though this is something that I've done numerous times, without complaint), this review is particularly disappointing because I paid the guest's uber ride, in full (about 1/3 of the price he paid for the airbnb). I thought that was an extremely fair trade-off for the minor inconvenience of a 10-minute detour.
Location: I'm not going to get too into detail here, but I find it odd that the guest would refer to the area as not being "safe" and, in the same breath, say he had no problems. The guest also expressed views to me directly that some might consider racially insensitive, which was quite disturbing, and perhaps provides context to another unfair rating.
Accuracy: The guest lists "amenities" as an area of improvement. Not sure what that means, or what he was expecting for an apartment-share listing.
For guests such as this, I normally decide against a review, because I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, when the guest gives, in my opinion, a misleading review, unfortunately I feel it necessary to provide context. As I've said before, I encourage prospective guests to take all reviews (and responses) into account when making a decision. Thank you.
