This is the private feedback that the guest left attached to this review. "This is a historic district of San Juan and a great building with a very helpful kind eclectic staff who's available to assist you and if you are like me answer silly questions everyone was so kind shaoping is a very sweet lady with the most stylish shoes and a good hart she reminds me of my friends mom back home in Seattle a very warm loving feeling comes over you the maids are great and the coffee suitable, I love what's around me more then anything a beach cinema and doctors hospitals within walking distance good food check out the local food trucks up the hill and down the street I meet so many amazing people and guess what she speaks fluent Spanish and can help those who might have fears calm themselves she's great I like her New curtains would be cool but one step at a time they have a very cool style now modern Asia meets murals of Puerto's Rico" She stayed with us several nights and we finally had to ask her to leave the hostel and not return. You can see the difference in attitude from her first wonderful review to the other rambling review. Same staff, same room, same host - we didn't change, but the guest's attitude changed dramatically.
The lady robbed me she caters to other Asians and sets people up my room stared out at 25 went up to 30 and kept on going after requesting I pay 50 for a,signal room it got worse I paid in cash big mistake because they change the date with the printer at the hotel lobby watch ou…
This guest stayed several nights became more and more disrespectful of our house rules. After reviewing videos of her altercation with the front desk in our lobby, we had to ask her to leave and not come back to the hostel again. As you can see from her previous review - she loved the hostel until she didn't. The hostel didn't change, but something about her attitude changed dramatically. This was her 'private feedback' from her first stay with us - compare it to this rambling review she just posted. I slept here for 3 nights and treated for scabies. Avoid, please. The staff are great people, super nice. The value would be great, but... to repeat myself... scabies!! and 3-4 mosquito bites - tropical mosquitoes that might carry diseases. The location I really liked, it's the …
Hi Smarada, We're very sorry that you have this condition, but we have had ZERO complaints from other guests regarding this situation. The normal incubation period from initial contact to symptoms can be up to SIX WEEKS - which may indicate that the infestation occurred prior to your arrival at the hostel. Most references cite the spread of this as 'direct physical contact' with another person - or direct contact with a used towel, etc. that another person had used. This was not possible in your case, since you had a private room for your own use during your stay at the hotel. In your private comments you mention that someone should 'greet your guests in person' - which leads me to think that perhaps you have us confused with another hotel or AirBnb you stayed at... since we have 24/7 front desk staff who you would have had to speak to in order to check-in at the hostel. It would be impossible for you to receive your card-key and room assignment without speaking to a person. If you meant me personally - I'm not at the hotel 24/7 but my office is right behind the front desk so if anyone wants to say hello or bring any problem to my attention, just ask the front desk clerk and I'll come out and greet you personally. You also mention that we don't put room dimensions. We don't do this for DORMS since you pay for a bed (they are all twin-sized as indicated in our website and listings) . In your case, we upgraded you to a private room which we thought would make you happy no matter what size - but if any future guests don't like having the extra space, single occupancy and private bath - please just mention it to the front desk and we can move you back to a room with multiple guests and shared bathroom which you paid for. Regarding cleanliness - there was daily maid service during your stay. As mentioned, you probably contracted your condition prior to your stay at our hotel since the incubation period is longer than the time between your stay and your review. Plus, we have no reports from other guests and our exterminator found no evidence of this since we called them to make an emergency inspection as soon as this review was posted. We take cleanliness very seriously here and would have appreciated it if you (or any future guests) had called us at the first suspicion that we may have been the source of your condition. We know this would not take care of your situation, but would considerate of other guests if there is a problem we can resolve. I'm not sure what you would have wanted me to write to you... we confirmed your reservation and you mention the friendliness of the staff who spoke to you every morning of your stay. You never mentioned any concerns about your room, size, communication or cleanliness during your daily contact with the front desk staff.... If you ever have problems in the future - please make sure to advise the hotel as soon as possible. We are always happy to correct any problems - when when the front desk asks 'is everything OK' in the morning and you don't report anything... we assume that you are pleased with your accommodation. For any future guests - we have 24/7 front desk staff - so if there is anything at all that concerns you, please let us know asap so we can fix any situation or change your room. Mosquitos are a fact of life here in the Caribbean and any travel guide recommends spray wherever you go during a visit to the Caribbean. All of our rooms are air conditioned with windows closed, but if you find any - just let the front desk know and they will spay the room when you are not there. We're glad you enjoyed the neighborhood - the new food truck court just down the street makes it even better with 15 food trucks and nightly entertainment at 'Lote 23'. Finally - we're very sorry about your condition, but with up to six weeks incubation, no one else sharing your room who could have spread them, inspection by our exterminator and no reports from other guests - the condition was probably acquired prior to your stay at the hotel. We wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you again in San Juan!
