This is a fantastically stylish, spotlessly clean, roomy and well heated flat in a perfect location in the 101 just out of the center and into Vesturbær by Dómkirkja, at most a 5-10 min walk from most of downtown, ~20 min to Hallgrímskirkja which is sorta the opposite side of central Reykjavik, and even closer to some of my local favorites like Matur og Drykkur, a mere block from Kaffi Stofan and also only a ten minute walk from the Vesturbæjarlaug swimming pool. It really s a perfect location, just far enough of the center to not be loud or tiny but still very much in it (also parkable if you had a car). It is cozy and warmly decorated. The host, Bryn, was wonderfully flexible and accommodating, dealing with my awkwardly times, insanely early flight arrival and looking after little details like bringing me a bottle opener. Sadly just a few weeks before the booking she found out unexpectedly there would be outside renovations during the stay originally scheduled a different time which would certainly (and honestly did) disrupt my peace and quiet. I think the best assessment of hosts is often how they deal with problems like this, rather than when everything is perfect and I think she did a great job and immediately contacted me with the issue and offered a full refund if I wanted to book elsewhere (but it was airwaves so hard) or a substantial discount to make up for the noise and inconvenience and she generally was very helpful and forthright in regards to the whole situation. (Assuming the construction is done of course) I would certainly love to book the place again, it was especially perfect for Airwaves!!
