Lakeview house is a quiet forested retreat with a view of Lake Roosevelt through the trees. 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms make this ideal for a family vacation or group retreat. Hi-Speed Gen5 satellite internet throughout, Roku TV set up for streaming services like Netflix, and a collection of old books and jigsaw puzzles for entertainment. Kitchen, living/dining rooms, laundry, deck, entrance are shared by all guests. Kitchen is equipped with necessities (8 settings). Delicious well water.
There is a wall of tall windows looking out from the front of the house at the lake. We often see deer out in the front yard, especially in the morning and evening.
No A/C in this house, but most of the rooms have ceiling fans and Island Room and Rose Room have floor fans in the closet. It was comfortable for most of our guests even on the 90-degree days in the summer.
A neighbor's cat, Lucky, is VERY friendly and will let himself in if the door is left open, so please keep screen doors closed at least.
The driveway and yard are quite large, so there is plenty of room to park a boat trailer (we don't mind if you park it in the yard). NOTE: Breakfast is not served at this house.
Washer/dryer in the upstairs hall. Iron and table-top ironing board in the linen closet. Hair dryer upon request. Guests are given a key to their bedroom door and a front door key during their stay.
We generally hand you the keys and tell you to "act like you live here". We are always available via text or phone, and delighted to help if guests have questions or need assistance.
Pets are allowed in Lakeview house, but owners will be held responsible for any damage, and will also be responsible for cleaning up any "messes". Cleaning supplies are available in the hall closet.
- Quiet hours 11pm - 8am
Phil and Linda Teller moved to Kettle Falls in 2014 to help a friend buy a house. We found a real treasure of a place, right on Lake Roosevelt, and with our friend, decided to convert the upper level into a B&B, while she lived downstairs. At the same time, Phil and Linda bought a farm on the other side of town. In early 2016, our friend got a job elsewhere and moved to follow her career. We (Phil and Linda) considered options at that point, and we SO enjoyed hosting B&B guests, we decided to continue the business and build on it. Today, we have the original "Riverwood at Lake Roosevelt" house, with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a commercially permitted kitchen, shared living/dining/decks/entertainment area, and a large side yard with a spectacular view.
Seeing a demand for extended stay rentals in the area, we also purchased a house .1 miles up the road that does have a view of the lake but is set back into the woods...a nice forested retreat. This is the "Lakeview on Columbia" house, with 3 bedrooms (one is a suite with 2 beds and shared bath), 3 bathrooms, and shared kitchen/living/dining/deck areas. Between the two houses, we are now able to meet a variety of needs for travelers!
On our farm, we try to grow/raise as many of the ingredients as we can for breakfast at the B&B, and much of the rest we acquire from local farmers or the organic/local section of our locally-owned grocery stores. We are firm believers in supporting local and small businesses! As further local support, we have a collection of menus and pamphlets from nearby restaurants and can offer suggestions for the "good" places to go!
Our sincere wish, as we were setting up these two houses for guests, was to create a place that would provide a great space for people who are looking for serenity and relaxation in a beautiful location, where the furniture is comfortable and the ambience welcoming enough to feel like you are in your home away from home. It is a place where WE would want to stay and keep coming back! Since we are always looking for the "hidden treasure" places that are "off the beaten path" when we travel, we have found that those are the types of guests who find this place most appealing.
Besides cooking and cleaning for our guests, we both have part time jobs which serve the community, so we've become experts at juggling schedules, but you may only see one of us during your visit. A nearby friend/neighbor (she is delightful!) has also partnered with us and fills in occasionally when needed.
