If you need to be near Norwich University. in Northfield or Central Vermont for a couple days, this might work for you. This space is just what it looks like, it's a young girls room with bunk beds. It's not fancy, but it is clean and functional. There is space in the closet to hang clothes and the (shared) bathroom is right next door. It is located on the 2nd floor near the master bedroom. The top bunk is not meant for adults, but a twin air mattress is available.
Our house is spacious and was built in 1851. There are three bedrooms and one bath upstairs, including the bunkbed room. The floors are original hardwood, but squeaky like you would expect in an old house. We live in a great neighborhood with some car traffic, but during the school year plenty of student traffic from Norwich to town and back. Our neighbors are great people, friendly and our close friends.
You are free to go in and out the front door. We can talk about possible kitchen needs or access to the living room space as well.
If you are renting the bunkbed room, we will be home. We are happy to socialize, but also just as happy to give you privacy as you wish. That said, the bunk room is located across the hall from the master bedroom, so it is inevitable we will cross paths.
We are just two blocks from Norwich University in one direction and a ten minute walk to downtown Northfield in the other. If you are doing something in town, there is little need for a car.
We are a married, working couple with 3 daughters. I am from Boston and my husband from Cleveland. We met in Vermont in 2006 and chose Northfield as our home for its access to Norwich University (where we both work), its small town sense of community and its natural beauty.
We travel often in summers to Lakeside, Ohio to stay in my in-laws' summer home. My husband has been all over the world for his scholarly work.
We are both lovers of history, reading, baseball and being outdoors.
