If you're interested in Scottish history, a trip to Dunollie Castle and Museum is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Walk round the grounds and enchanted woodlands discovering the life of the MacDougals in the 1745 House Museum. If your looking for a sight seeing or wildlife tour Oban has many to choose from including day trips to the islands of Mull, Coll and Tiree. For those who like a little tipple, a tour of the Oban Whisky Distillery is great way to spend your time and sample some of Scotland's finest single malt whisky. The distillery is uniquely situated right in the heart of the town so you can have a wee nip and not worry about the car!
I am always on site during the hours of check in. I like to give my guests space but I'm usually available for any queries they may have. Most interaction takes place during breakfast service.
Breakfast - between 1st November and 28th Feb, only a continental breakfast is provided within the nightly room rate. The nightly room rate is reflective of this. Should you wish to have a cooked breakfast, this can be arranged on arrival at £6 per person per night and payable in cash during your stay. At all other times of the year a cooked Scottish breakfast is included in your room rate.
Briarbank has private parking at the bottom of the garden, however due to our hillside location, Briarbank may not be suitable for the elderly or anyone with mobility issues. This should be taken into consideration when booking.
I'm Chris and I have just recently taken over at Briarbank Guest House with my wife Joanne. We are both former retail managers from Glasgow however now Joanne is a primary school teacher in the local area and I concentrate on Briarbank.
We want to provide a relaxing environment for you to enjoy the beautiful West Coast of Scotland. We are more than happy to help you when you request but don't worry we won't chase you round the house pushing local restaurants and activities! This is your time to relax and we'll be delighted to help you do that.
